I like leaving Coke in, but only because there is an off day tomorrow.

Kind of surprised the Yankees didn't get some guys go so A-Rod could hit into a triple play, or something.

With all those lefties up, yes.

Arod will hit a homer and get booed.

Again: From the ump's vantage point (six feet above the ground) he probably would not have seen the tag.

GIF of the play

Looks like Nelson is like about 6 feet away when the tag is applied - at that angle, he should have still seen Cano's glove hitting Infante's side (the tag is in a weird place, but Infante is turned such that it should be visible from the first base side, where the umpire is.) Hard to say definitively, though.

Well, they aren't beating Verlander. So CC might take Game Four, but that is pretty much it as far as I can tell. In time, I may yet come to not regard this team with more than outright disgust--though I doubt I'll ever think of them fondly--but for now, they're pretty awful. The only upshot is that I'm pretty much past being angry and on to just ready for it to be over. Which is a sad commentary on what they've done to me this season.

And what a flipping disaster it was.

Just watched the 9ers game. Joe Buck couldn't stop talking about the baseball game. Which is just like when he's doing baseball and can't stop talking about football. At least he made a joke about the audience wishing Madden and Summerall were doing the football game instead of him and the other dude.

Girardi with a fair, not whiny at all plea for replay. Couldn't have said it better. Then the follow up question is pretty douchy and Girardi continues to be eloquent. Not a fan of his at all but it was a terrific statement on his part.

Yeah. In fact, if the 49ers game had gone into overtime it's entirely possible that the NLCS game would start with just McCarver in the booth.
   432. Guts Posted: October 14, 2012 at 07:39 PM (#4270064)
Ok, let's do this. Cards are freerollin' right now.
   433. Cooper Nielson Posted: October 14, 2012 at 07:40 PM (#4270065)
On the other hand, how freaking dominant are the Tigers? Except for Fat V inning, they've done nothing but throw bagels on the board for 28 innings!

The run Scherzer gave up was unearned, so (if I counted correctly) over the past 42 innings, the team ERA for the Tigers, ignoring pitches thrown by Valverde, is 0.00. I don't care how bad the Yankees offense is, that's impressive.

What we need to do, is tell the team that they are behind 3-0 in the series and are behind in the score.

Without a sirens-blazing police escort, there's no way he could get there in 30 minutes unless in a helicopter.

Eh. It was self serving. Had the shoe been on the other foot, his reply would have been 180 degrees different. Show me Lelend arguing for replay because of that call and I'll happily withdraw.

Actually, what the h3ll am I saying? I sure hope Joe Buck gets stuck in traffic, is an hour late to the Giants-Cards game, and gets the pink slip. Yeah, that's the ticket!
   440. bunyon Posted: October 14, 2012 at 07:52 PM (#4270077)
If Buck is late, they'll just patch him in by phone and have him spend the first three innings describing the 9ers game and pointing out celebrities who are stuck in traffic with him.

You won't notice a thing at home.
   441. Gamingboy Posted: October 14, 2012 at 07:52 PM (#4270078)

Self-promotional link to my web page that describes how to use a utility called RadioDelay to synchronize radio play-by-play audio with the later images on your television. I don't get nuthin' out of it, just trying to help those who don't want to listen to Buck and McCarver and have a bit of technical prowess with their computers.

Also, as a Nats fan may I say #### the Cardinals. Thank you.

Giants' starting pitching is a complete wild card. Those guys could be absolutely great, but all of 'em have looked vulnerable at times in the latter part of this season.

Just got in, watched the play...... I'm the first person to give the umpires the benefit of the doubt for positioning, but there's no way he should have missed this one. it makes no sense.

Cardinals are throwing out Cy Young candidate Kyle Lohse, former Cy Young winner and post season ace in Carpenter, and Adam Wainwright, yes the fourth pitcher is iffy, but versus the Giants, I see both teams being a wild card.

Can it be said that no team in the past 30+ years has more reflected the city they play in than the Giants of the past few years do? I mean, SF is America's most eclectic city, and damn if the Giants don't have some colorful characters. You know, like the WILD BRIAN WILSON that JUST APPEARED [X].

The thought of Joe Buck trying to get from Candlestick to China Basin in 30 minutes reminds me of those old Streets of San Francisco episodes where Karl Malden would tell Michael Douglas that they have 15 minutes to get from Cow Hollow to Chinatown to save a victim from a serial killer. My godfather would hear that and invariably say "She's ######\".

Freese is not making amazing contact with the ball right now, but his eye has been fantastic.

I feel like I am responsible.

More postseason WPA for Freese, like he needs it.

Recently I have been really paying attention to the time frames of these shows and they really bother me for some reason. NCIS is horrible with that, but it seems to be a standard trope nowadays to come up with a time span that isn't remotely realistic.
