Lenny Dykstra to fight ‘Bagel Boss’ Chris Morgan in Atlantic City boxing match

The winding post-baseball tale of Lenny Dykstra has another strange new chapter.

The three-time All-Star and World Series champion is slated to fight “Bagel Boss” Chris Morgan in Atlantic City. The two will square off in a boxing ring at the Showboat Hotel on Sept. 7 in a deal announced Monday.

At the rate it’s going, within the next five years Lenny Dykstra will be fighting his fellow hobos for a can of baked beans under the pier.

Fixed.

Why are we keeping this bagel dude in the news.
   4. asinwreck Posted: August 13, 2019 at 08:58 AM (#5870873)
A dystopian reality show would put Lenny Dykstra and Pete Rose in the same halfway house and watch as each tried to swindle the other over the course of a season.

If the ratings start to dive, they could introduce Denny McLain midway through as the elderly grifter. Or, hey! Doug DeCinces just avoided jail time in his insider trading case, so he's available.

Then half way into the season add someone that everyone used to think was crazy but in this context starts to look pretty reasonable, say Joey Belle.

Every time I’ve seen that bagel guy video I’ve come away feeling bad for him. Yeah he’s lashing out inappropriately but it’s pretty clear he’s been beaten down over his life and is pretty troubled. It doesn’t make it OK for him to be a prick but the mockery of this guy feels wrong. Also the guy who tackled him in my opinion should have been arrested for assault. For all bagel guy’s bluster he didn’t touch anyone or threaten anyone.

ag#1f is correct.

my understanding, jose, is that that guy (morgan) has a history of these kinds of tirades - he's posted other videos of him lashing out at people in the past.
also, while he didn't touch anyone, he was certainly threatening.
he needs counseling.

He needs something. I'm not a psychiatrist but it's pretty clear he needs some kind of help. What I'm pretty sure of is that what he doesn't need is to be mocked around the internet.

Among my many issues with that video is I feel like there was something leading up to it. Again, I'm not excusing his behavior but trying to understand it. I'm assuming he didn't just walk in there and start screaming at people.

I ain't mocking him.

Trust me, I've got people I love to death who need ... medication.

Have you ever had a friend you love to death call you up and tell you that the Mexican mob is holding a gun to her head and is going to kill her if she doesn't open the gun safe?

Oh yeah, and they've beaten her face to a pulp. And you'd believe it, if it weren't completely insane and you didn't know ... well, she should probably be on meds.

And when she shows up at your house, less than a week later? Nothing? Not a mark.

Meds.

Just saying.

The dating world is absolutely brutal for short men. I've frequented some forums over the years where dating/relationships are the primary focus of discussion. It's common to see threads started by short men who have been absolutely beat down emotionally because of the perpetual rejection they've faced from women because of their short stature. Most women who respond to those threads concede they won't date men who are noticeably shorter than them.

Doesn't excuse this dude's behavior, but I can absolutely see how a lifetime of rejection from the opposite sex, not to mention likely mockery from other men, would hugely impact his worldview.

10 - I wasn't suggesting you are the one mocking him (or anyone in this thread really) just noting the general aspect of it. As you say meds are fine and may well be necessary here. I'm not going to try and evaluate him from afar though other than to say he needs some kind of help.

Not defending the guy who tackled him, but Morgan was clearly getting in the other dude's face and it looks like he chest bumped him. If he did that to an umpire in a baseball game MLB would have suspended him.

OK, I just looked at a 3 minute YouTube of it, and...no court would convict the guy who tackled that angry man of assault. The angry man provoked and threatened people. He walked up to the guy who tackled him, and got in his personal space, making contact. He's lucky he didn't get knocked out.

Hey, my current wife was a 30 something single mum of 3 when I met her and she is fabulous. Then again I was a 40 something single dad of 5, so maybe not the greatest catch in the world.

Jokes aside, I was single for a bit in my 40's and dated a number of amazing mums aged between 28 and 48. Most of them were just really kind and just looking for a fun time out with someone who could hold a conversation and made them laugh. I found it a great experience for a few years there until I met my wife.

YR was banned after being accused of being racist, by people who didn't understand that when talking about issues of race, he engaged in parody. Like, when he called Obama a "jungle savage from Kenya", as you probably remember, he was shoving it up the asses of all the birthers on the site. But YR was deemed racist. Too funny.

He's ok about it. His take: "I don't need to be anywhere I'm not wanted."

I wouldn't have banned YR from the site, but #34 is not an accurate recounting of what happened. He baited one of the few minority members on the site with thinly veiled comments at least a couple of times over a several month period. A few people called him out on it and then Jim stepped in and banned him without any warning (which I don't think was anyone's intention, but so it goes).

that bagel boss guy isn't just short, he's a dwarf - like little person kind of size. not just a "short guy"

there are tons of females who are 5' or shorter who got no problem with a guy who is 5'4 or taller which the bagel guy is not

i personally prefer short guys myself seeing as how i am short too

- as for YR, wasn't me who communicated with The Jim even though i just happened to be on that thread at the time the bannination hammer dropped. he wasn't banned for making fun of birthers. he was banned for personal attacks on a (known) minority person, not me this time

I am embarrassed to admit that I was curious enough to look up whether this was a real thing. I am even more embarrassed to admit that after discovering that it was indeed a real thing, I was curious enough to watch it.

I guess this is naive, but I always imagined that these "celebrity boxing" sorts of things would pay at least a little attention to the matchup (beyond the mere show business aspect of "Horshack vs. Screech - now that's a matchup!"). I mean, Diamond was half Palillo's age, had a five inch height advantage and a six inch reach advantage, and 54 pounds on Palillo. And from the actual fight, it looks like Diamond has had at least some fighting experience, whereas Palillo looked like a 48 year old guy who suddenly found himself in his first fight since third grade.

Again, this may be naive, but don't they get some sort of sanctioning body to sign off on it?

I met Screech once... He's a couple years younger than me - and he was actually up on my campus for one of those "potential freshman" visits, where HS senior-aged kids spend the weekend and of course.... attend a few campus parties. Anyway, via means I am unaware of - he happened to make his way to a gathering.

You'd think quasi-celebrity would ensure he'd have a... shall we say... good time.... but you'd be wrong... or at least, overestimating drunken fratboy capability to be welcoming (is that even possible? Does anyone estimate such at anything less than a negative number?)

To be fair - when I tried intervening a bit with the "Fellas, come on... enough with the Screech stuff", I was informed that it only started because he was really acting like a #########. To be doubly fair, I was also about 50/50 intervening on his behalf in the hopes of getting Tiffany Amber Thiessen's phone number.

My Dustin Diamond memory, and one of my few brushes with fame: He attended my elementary school and, when I was in 1st grade and he was in 7th, he brought a giant snake in for show-and-tell (a python, I think) and took it around to all the classes. He was already acting by that time, but he didn't seem at all interested to be presenting his pet to our class, and stood up there looking kind of uncomfortable for a few minutes while our teacher asked him questions. Even though I didn't know him in any real way - he was six grades ahead of me and was understandably absent from school quite a bit - I always rooted for him to have a career beyond "Saved By the Bell" if only so that my intersection with a famous personality would be a bit more notable. Instead, as usual, Weird Al says it best.

He didn't like Snapper, this was true.

But it wasn't because Snapper was Catholic.

It was because Snapper was an #### about being a Catholic, rather than simply *being* a Catholic.

It wasn't Snapper's (r)eligion, it was Snapper's (R)eligion that pissed YR off.

YR never gave *any* ##### about *anyone* of any (r)eligion. He *regularly* cracked jokes about his Jewishness.

I.

I feel dirty for saying it ... I can probably get you TAT's phone number.

YR requested a link to the Discord site.

Also, if anyone wishes to contact him, he's at upwithevil@gmail.com

That invite goes for everyone, so hopefully others here will poke their heads in and see what they think. Just avoid the #zonksbutt channel.
