Man, Baez with another 2-run double.
Hayward BA with no one on this year: .100

With runners on: .414

In other news, Jason Heyward is willing to carefully consider Manfred's ideas about extra innings.

Baez back to the no singles thing after falling off the wagon for a couple of days. Double, HR today.

Red Sox score a run, woohoo, good times are back.

SP still unbelievably good.

Ian Desmond comes up against a righty as the tying run, and grounds out to the pitcher. He is now 3 for 46 this year against righthanded pitchers.

Ian Desmond comes up

Somehow I don't believe the Rockies will be happy with this signing.

In the meantime, Carl Edwards pitched to three batters, got three grounders back to himself, and somehow still allowed all three runners he inherited to score.

Right now, he's a first baseman with a 31 OPS+, and he's making $22 million this year. He's got three more years and $40 million coming to him. I hated the signing, and it's turned out worse than I expected.

Bases loaded 2 out, wild pitch and arrendo out at home on replay. Wow.

Can't believe they overturned that. It looked like he might have got the tag down, but there was never a replay that was close to conclusive.

Cubs scored only 9 in their win, lowering their average, whereas the 2 scored yesterday in their loss upped the average. They are still 9+ in the wins and 2- in losses, but the two are slowly converging, like the Milky Way and Andromeda.

That was a really bad slide with the foot popping up. I guess he doesn't slide that often.
Stupid, stupid, stupid !

Morrow with a nice, neat scoreless ninth. Closering.

THIS JUST IN: During Brandon Belt's at bat this afternoon, Taylor Swift broke up with two more boyfriends.

There was an angle on the Cubs broadcast from the OF where it was pretty clear his foot was in the air when the tag was on.

Nationals blew that 3-0 lead pretty quickly..
