Lucroy drives in five runs as Brewers sweep Dodgers

The season series finale was a 7-2 Brewers rout on a sun-splashed Sunday at Dodger Stadium, with Lucroy logging five RBIs in the first two innings and Peralta working six scoreless innings to tie for the Major League lead with his 15th victory.

The National League Central-leading Brewers defeated the NL West-leading Dodgers five times in six games over a span of 10 days, with Dodgers aces Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke starting four of the games for Los Angeles. The Brewers took two of three last weekend at Miller Park before dealing the Dodgers their first losing sweep in a series of more than two games all season.

Now the teams are tied atop the National League with 70 wins apiece.

//lucroy has been scuffling.  maybe today his bat got its second wind

if it matters the only comment from me follow the back slashes. i don't know how to differentiate between copied text and original remarks in submissions.

anyway, saturday's game was the game to see. kershaw and gallardo were both excellent and the only brewer hits were on mistakes save for braun who caught up to a fastball.

Most teams look good once they get away from that buzzsaw on Chicago's north side...

Use the greater than and less than along with "blockquote" between the two alligators.

Or use the words quote and /quote in square brackets at the start and end of the excerpt, respectively

Nah, it's pretty darn cumbersome for all of us.

If you use the square brackets then a mistake won't screw up anything else. Using greater than and less than works, but if you don't do it right then your follow up comments (and possibly the whole discussion) will be in the quote.

Whoa, is this is a game recap??

if you are asking about the link then yes

i posted it because i thought a series between division leaders where one swept the other on the road was somewhat interesting

that and there is regular chatter about lucroy being an mvp candidate

and if one considers such things important peralta is now tied for the league lead in wins with 15

oh, and elian herrara made a horrendous play on a fly ball in the 8th inning. he almost got himself killed

Don't sweat it Harvey, I was totally kidding. It's kind of an inside joke between me and my stalkers.

Yeah. Joey posted what amounted to a game recap a couple of weeks ago & a few people objected to it, I think in part because he apparently recast the headline or something. Seemed petty to me then & still does, but whatever.

Here I thought merely submitting baseball related stories would be objectionable around here.

Very good series for the Crew, which can't seem to sweep the bottom dwellars.

ron's teams have always finished strong. i want to believe this team will do the same.

I think the primary objection was that the link was correctly viewed as an attempt to poke his Dixie Doppelganger in the eye.

Could be. Also the fact that he's Joey, period.

Absolutely. If a less objectionable poster, such as everyone else, had posted that, it wouldn't have drawn nearly as much ire.

By the way, this makes us stalkers.

But a less objectionable poster wouldn't change the title of a game recap purely for the purpose of gloating and mocking other people.

Anyway, I was unaware until yesterday that the Brewers signed Lucroy to something like a 5-year $11 million contract back when he was a no-name. Now that contract looks very strange.

i asked the question in yesterday's chatter whether doug melvin should approach lucroy about a new contract.

If not, maybe they can fire him in mid-September and replace him with Ned Yost, whose team is red hot down the stretch!

da

ned had several teams get hot in august and then kaput
