Maeda strikes out 12, drives in 2 as Dodgers top Padres 2-0

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kenta Maeda dominated on the mound and helped himself at the plate.

The right-hander struck out 12 batters and drove in both runs in leading the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 2-0 victory over the San Diego Padres on Wednesday night.

“It’s hard to imagine him being any better,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. “It was really, really fun to watch. He was great all night long.”

We were discussing a week or so ago pitchers driving in their run support- here’s another one for that list.

Maeda fouled a ball off his thigh in last night’s game, and the Dodgers are thusly putting him on the IL “as a precaution,”

Sounds like typical Dodger roster manipulation BS. The 10-day DL really need to go. Bring back the 15 and 21, and limit a team to 2-3 guys on the 15.
