Manichi Daily: Orix Buffaloes outfielder Hiroyuki Oze found dead in Okinawa

Died at 24 from a fall, might be a suicide.

NAHA—Orix Buffaloes outfielder Hiroyuki Oze has fallen to his death at a hotel in Okinawa Prefecture.

Okinawa Prefectural Police are questioning the Buffaloes’ manager, Akinobu Okada, and his teammates over the player’s death. They have not yet ruled out suicide.

Japanese player Oze dies in apparent suicide
Reuters - February 6, 2010, 12:15 am

TOKYO, Feb 5 (Reuters) - Japanese professional baseball player Hiroyuki Oze has died in an apparent suicide, local media reported on Friday.

The 24-year-old Orix Buffaloes outfielder fell from the second floor of the hotel the team were staying at for a training camp in Okinawa.

Japanese media said police were treating his death as suicide although no further details were immediately available.
