Manny Machado hits first two homers or career—to same fan

This fan has more range than Jeff Francoeur.

The third baseman, who is 20 years and 35 days old, homered twice against the Kansas City Royals to become the youngest player in team history to achieve the feat and the 12th-youngest in baseball since 1918.

Machado broke the record of [Boog] Powell, who was 20 years and 258 days old when he hit two homers on May 2, 1962.

But Machado won’t celebrate the feat by himself. Adam Corder, 15 and a Maryland native who now lives in Prague, caught both of Machado’s home runs, according to Corder was sitting in section 78, row 14 at Camden Yards.

Can they start printing the playoff tickets now?

Gotta love the fact that Machado has come up and had this nice hot start. It'll cool down, obviously -- it's only two games! -- but psychologically you've gotta think it's big for a young guy.

Well, Mendoza only hit 2 HR in a _season_ once so I'll have to raise the lower bound for this guy. His downside is now Andres Thomas. :-)

Machado hit another HR today, and the O's are up by one. So far, so good.

Machado just struck out. So much for the Hall of Fame career.

Am I the only person who's a little disappointed that this post didn't say "Nice story, but you can't expect him to hit two homers to the same fan every night?"

You're not the only one; I'm a little disappointed as well.
