It'll be interesting to see whether Guillen and Cora can overcome this semi-disaster and get managerial jobs. I suppose the answers are "probably" and "who knows", respectively.
Bet there is an obscure clause that allows Loria to pay the balance in Monopoly money.
Toronto, and it's not particularly close. The Marlins are in absolute disarray from top to bottom at this point.

"Bud, it's Mr. Loria. Put me down for another seven and a half on my check this year, that Mexican guy I hired wasn't working out."
The odds are pretty good they do not hire anyone to replace Guillen as manager, rather they leave managerial decisions to a dolphin in right field that swims to either a "YES" sign or "NO" sign.
Dolphins aren't cheap. Jose Canseco will swim to a YES or NO sign for half of what a dolphin gets.
Jose still wants the free fish though.

A-Rod and Michael Pineda for Giancarlo Stanton and Greg Dobbs! Make it happen, Cashman!
Yeah, but then you need somebody smart enough to do the opposite of whatever Jose Canseco divined...
What did you think he was going to do with the Heath Bell windfall?
I keep coming back to this thread hoping for a Jack Keefe post...
According to Forbes estimates (which are net of their revenue sharing estimates), Loria put up $20+ million of his own cash into the club each year from 2003 to 2005.
Jack doesn't speak Spanish, more's the pity...
ironicappropriate that he finally spends some money this year and everything falls to merde on him.Fixed!
