Marlins won’t trade Lowell

They’re a daffy bunch in Miami.

Primey for #6. Bonus points for spelling it correctly.

"No one in this country can ever pronounce my name right. It's not that hard: Na-ee-ana-jad. Nayanajaad"

Here's the Marlins plan in a nutshell: Do not trade a player who is playing way over his head. Instead, believe that said player is actually this good, and try to re-sign him to a long term deal, based on a few hot months.

Yeah, that sounds good.

Phil,

...I think sometimes the cold-blooded stathead, roto-driven "buy low/sell high" "he's-a-mediocrity-over-his-head" mentality that has been applied to Lowell has been carried a bit too far in these quarters... So, I think the Marlins' holding onto Lowell to see what happens, or the Cubs or Dodgers' trading something for him, would be reasonable moves.

Holding onto Lowell does make sense on some level. If you want to hold him for a couple weeks, and see where you are in the race, fine. But declaring he won't be traded seems foolish.

Not sure what's cold-blooded or roto-driven about my post, but I guess you could take it that way. I'm not saying "trade him immediately." I'm saying they've had plenty of time to sign him long term if they believed he was worth it. Now, after 3 incredibly hot months, is the worst possible time for this.

I do

Did Darren just spontaneously get married, or what?

You know you're spending too much time on a website when you've got it going right in the middle of your wedding ... poor Darren, of course, was supposed to SAY "I do" but got confused and typed it instead ...

I can't wait to be hearing from him on the honeymoon!

You think that's bad, when I supposed to say "I do" in the ceremony, I said "Now, after 3 incredibly hot months, is the worst possible time for this."

Okay, #22 deserves a primey nod right now. I'm trying and failing to keep myself from laughing out loud. It's a good thing there's no one else in my department right now.

I'm not sure there's any point in Primey voting this year after that.

Lowell Just turned 29, so maybe the Marlins think that this is his big step forward. However I think he is a guy you could get some one to over pay for.
