That's not a trigger I think I pull in the offseason - for a very, very good reliever who is LH, but not at all limited to being a LOOGY, that's the sort of thing I'd rather trade midseason. Panicked teams just seem more willing to do something stupid for relief help, especially prime help, in midseason than they do in the offseason. I'm not saying teams knowingly make Andersen-Bagwell swaps, of course -- but I just think the returns are likely to be better in July when you might well have 2-3 teams desperate for bullpen help.
...and then immediately traded him for Carmelo Zimbrino in an attempt to trade for the right Zimbrino this time.
