Mets Today: Paul LoDuca Wants To Come Back

Hmm … the Mets need a catcher, a righthanded-hitting first baseman, and a left fielder — and LoDuca has ably handled all three positions as a big leaguer. He also has that “fight” and “grittiness” that Mets fans adore.

Hey, he couldn’t be much worse than Santos, could he?

Ooh, if he comes back this will give the media another chance to expose the ridiculous scandal he's kept hidden for about 5 years (when he was named in the Mitchell Report, that was the tip of the iceberg).

I guess he misses the Long Island p*ssy..

Hey, don't we all.

His was by far the most entertaining entry in the Mitchell report. Something about, "he's off the roids now, but if we trade him he might get back on steroids just to spite us"

Just looking at his career on B-Ref, you can do the 'cliche' "HOLY ####, he took STEROIDS!!!!" stance in about 5 seconds. The sad thing is that you can make a decent argument that LoDuca was the best thing to come out of the Dodgers system in the early 2000s.

Sure I'd listen if the Mets called me.

Then should sign him, and rehire Phillips. They could go trolling the college bar circuit for youthful strange. Wouldn't help the team, but would make for smashing good entertainment.

Watch out, ladies!

Did he retire? Really liked him.

The problem with Lo Duca isn't versatility- it's that he isn't a good enough hitter to be worth playing in LF, at 1B, or even at C.

LoDuca didn't really retire. Just that nobody was willing to give a contract.

Paul LoDuca Wants To Come Back

If it wasn't about Paul LoDuca, you'd never notice the missing preposition.

Do you really want to play him in LF? Even ignoring what Howard said in #10, do any of you remember what he actually looked like when he played a few innings of LF in Los Angeles?

Watch out, ladies!

Wasn't thinking of him, of course, but that's pretty funny.

And I want a pink Mercedes that flies and plays the entirety of the Goldberg Variations when I toot the horn.

In short: Line up at the fantasy counter in the dream store, Paulie.

Our catcher keeps getting older, but the girls stay the same age!
