``I saw what Miceli said about not respecting his manager because [John] Boles never played in the big leagues,'' Weaver says. ``You tell Miceli for me that the closest I ever got to playing in the big leagues was wearing a major-league uniform in spring training in 1952. And I can manage the next two years starting right now and not win a single ballgame, and I'd still be over .500 for my career.''

You gotta love a guy like this. It's great when someone who a drip like Miceli might listen to starts a sentence with "You tell Miceli ..."

Anyway, the other Earl quote I always liked was "Ya get them big c*s* who can hit the ball out of the f* ballpark and ya can't make any g*d* mistakes." (Sorry to young children who may be reading.)
