Vero Beach is moving to Port Charlotte next year, and who knows if the Appy league will even exist a year from now (there have been talks about disbanding the league), so it would have been pointless to waste money rebranding the teams when they'll probably need to do it next year anyway. FWIW, both teams are owned by the organization itself, not by a third-party owner.
Unwillingness to lose or give up is a good trait, even if it sometimes makes you do silly, hypercompetitive things.
Actually, they renamed the city "Vero Beach Devil".
