Military Training Device Unearthed By Crew Working On Baseball Field

The discovery was made Wednesday morning in the left field area of Pat Thomas Stadium by a crew with the Leesburg’s Public Works Department.

A team from Patrick Air Force Base removed the device, which was X-rayed and deemed not explosive.

Local 6 News helicopter Sky 6 showed two men wearing camouflage and a robotic device in the outfield of the baseball diamond.

Any guesses as to what it was?

Not explosive, eh...that would be Scott Podsednik's bat, I think.

We're a suspect device if we do what we're told
But a suspect device can score an own goal
I'm a suspect device the Army can't defuse
You're a suspect device they know they can't refuse
We're gonna blow up in their face

Well, y'know, one of the classic early UFO films was shot at a minor league ballpark by the club's GM ... http://www.nicap.org/mariana.htm

Great, great song. The original 45 is even more incindiary (no pun intended) than the LP opener.

Naked Raygun's cover version doesn't exactly suck, either.
