Somewhat apropos of both Klemens and Inge, I saw Brandon Backe at the House of Pies over off of 610 one time with a shirt that had an imposing government-style IPS logo, captioned "Inquisitorial Panty Squad." Maybe that's it, who knows?
The stories are written in a way that could lead you to draw other conclusions, however.
I don't know if general credibility really exists....baseball, uniquely, is the game Americans love to moralize about: Clemens may take the sanctity of the mlb record book much more seriously than the sanctity of marriage. After all, he's going out of his way to avoid having his repuation as a historically great pitcher tarnished, but he seems to have had pretty little concern about his rep as a family man.
Of course, it may be that he thought the former rep would shield the latter; and, indeed, there seems to be a disconnect between the way the tabloids describe 20 yrs of fairly blatant carrying-on and the vast respect sportswriters gave the man over that period of time....

Once more: the only "news" outlet to report this story said that they didn't do anything "intimate" until sometime after she turned 18.

I certainly never took a class like that (I've never heard of it before now), and I made it through AP Physics and AP Chemistry by the time I graduated. I got my degree in Materials Science and Engineering, so IPS is clearly not a requirement for knowing "scientific fact".
A filthy lie: Clemens has never hit Inge. But Inge has hit Clemens pretty well...

The idea, as far as I can tell, is that the man suing McNamee for damaging his reputation had a reputation with a basis in fiction. Clemens had to this point used his reputation as an honorable family man as an example of how he does the "right thing", despite what other ballplayers do, in order to strengthen the notion that he likewise had been doing the "right thing" by not using steroids.
Whether he was a bad husband and/or father is a separate matter. Since there are no allegations of abuse out there, I'm comfortable leaving that to the judgment of Debbie Clemens and the Khildren. (Tip of the hat to #15.)
There's been a movement this year to change Kyle Kendrick's name to "Byle Bendrick". Someone with 65 K's in 153 career innings doesn't deserve the initials KK.
On the other hand, he only has 36 walks in that time, too.

-I took "Physical Science" in 8th grade
-I feel bad for Clemens in regards to this media coverage in a way that I didn't for McNamee because the actions are wildly divergent, as is the publicity for them
-I don't feel bad for Clemens over the steroids/hgh thing, in which we appear to have pretty good evidence of cheating
