MLB.com: Bailey delivers 16th no-hitter in Reds history

Reds pitcher Homer Bailey did what he usually does to the Pirates at PNC Park by dominating on Friday night. But Bailey took it to another level this time, one much higher. A no-hitter.

During a 1-0 Reds win over Pittsburgh, Bailey became the first Reds pitcher to no-hit an opponent since Tom Browning threw a perfect game against the Dodgers on Sept. 16, 1988, at Riverfront Stadium. It’s the 16th no-hitter in club history.

Okay, I think it's safe to say no-hitters have jumped the shark.

Pirates now 6-20 in September. Have to run the table to finish .500. PRetty rough for a team that seem guaranteed to break their losing streak.

i am pretty sure if you looked up the definition of 'reeling' it would show the 2012 pirates

i feel for the good pittsburgh fans here. nobody deserves this type of finish.

The hardsmash to Rolen at third could've easily been ruled a hit.

Leroy, I was surprised at the time that it was not ruled a hit, especially since the Pirates were the home team. At the time I didn't think too much of it, because it was early in the game. However, by the sixth or seventh inning, I started thinking about how pivotal that play was in regards to a potential no-hitter.
