He's especially good at making efficient turns around the bases. He may not be the single fastest guy in a straight line (may not even be fastest on his team), but he's probably the best I've ever seen going home to third, first to home, or hitting an inside the parker.
The most recent rumor is a Bourjos/Conger for Shields/?? deal is being discussed with Tampa.
Isn't that sort of not necessarily great?
Bourjos plays the same position as the Angels' best player. That reduces his value. No doubt that he's a great defender and an okay hitter, but he's the sort of guy who you should be open to getting good value for.
I'm not an Angels' fan, so I get that you like Bourjos, but wouldn't you be better off with like ... Chase Headley or someone like that?
