MLB.com: Nats send autographed Harper bat to Ozzie Guillen

CHICAGO—Some levity was added to the heated pine-tar exchange between Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen and Washington’s Bryce Harper on Sunday. [...]

During the feud, several Washington players pulled a prank. Adam LaRoche had Harper sign a bat for him. Harper didn’t know the purpose, but it’s common for players to get autographs from each other.

From there, LaRoche added next to the signature, “To my hero, Ozzie, love you.”

The Nationals players had the bat smeared with pine tar and sent it to Guillen.

“It was funny,” Guillen said. “I’ve got a few friends on their side. All those guys were making fun of me. I found out later they made the kid sign the bat. They put the rest. ‘To my hero, Ozzie, love you.’”

When I first glanced at the headline I read it as "Nats Authorize Harper to Beat Ozzie Guillen".

Insane though he clearly is, the cool thing about Guillen is that he laughs about stuff like this.

Are you not entertained?

Apparently, Ozzie Guillen's wife was spotted booing him at Wrigley. According to Ozzie, she didn't want the crowd to know she was his wife because she feared she'd be killed. Yeah, that's probably it - anyone not booing Ozzie at Wrigley had to be a family member.

And yet he thinks Bryce is going to take a bunch of fastballs to the ears.

Just pine tar?

The pine tar was the only thing they would admit to.

Funny little fact: Adam LaRoche actually used to be Ozzie Guillen's batboy, back when LaRoche's father Dave was pitching coach for the Chicago White Sox.

Natürlich. How do you think LaRoche learned to cuss so exquisitely?

Awesome. I think I am just going to go ahead and adopt the Nats as my NL team now.
