MLB: Harang appears affected by relief outing

Or as Mullet the Cowboy said tonight…“Harang’s not fatigued, he’s missing his spots due to fatigue.” or something like that. (I was fatigued at the time)

Aaron Harang worked his shortest start of the season as the Reds were roughed up in a 7-2 loss to the Pirates on Thursday night at Great American Ball Park.

Harang’s four innings matched the total he pitched in emergency relief in an 18-inning Reds game at San Diego on Sunday. That outing clearly affected him. The right-hander allowed six earned runs and 10 hits with two strikeouts.

Most of the Pittsburgh damage came in the third and fourth innings. In the third, Harang gave up three doubles, including RBI two-baggers by Xavier Nady and Jason Michaels. In the three-run fourth, Jason Bay hit a two-run homer to left field.

How about giving him an extra day or two of rest before his next start?
