Can’t believe cole isn’t one of the most sought after players. Lots of upside, 2 years of control. I would think the dodgers would be all over this

Last week it was "Watching Paint Dry," so this week has to be better :-D

He's regressed 2 years in a row. 4.08 FIP last year. There's no reason Pitssburgh should expect better than the Sonny Gray package, but apparently they do. Asking for Gleyber Torres is insane.

His main problem last year was his HR/FB went nuts. No reason to assume that's going to last. Torres is too much to ask for, but I think it's fair to view him as at least a little more valuable than Gray.

Well, Coles poor 2nd half following surgery the year before is a red flag. Only 2 years control. For the right price anyone would love to see if he can return to 2015 form but the Pirates asking for too much. If this was following the 2015 season they could get what they are asking but that ship has saled

Multiple reports that Cole has been traded to Astros for pitcher Joe Musgrove & 3rd baseman Colin Moran.

If the Pirates balked at the Yankees package because it didn't include Torres and then accepted this mediocre return from the Astros, this doesn't bode well for the Pirates future.

Wow, if it's Musgrove and Moran, this is garbage. Two 25-year-old, not-very-good guys for a proven 2/3 starter?

Seems much worse than Frazier, Adams, plus.

Which makes me wonder if the Yankees really did offer Frazier, Adams, plus.

According to a report quoted in the Cole trade thread, indeed the Yanks offered Frazier or Adams, not both.
