MLB: Pavano leaves game with left hip injury

Carl Pavano landed awkwardly after throwing a pitch in the sixth inning of Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays and departed with what was initially believed to be a left hip injury.

Pavano threw a strike to the Rays’ Eric Hinske before walking slowly to the front of the mound, snapping the ball back from catcher Ivan Rodriguez, before gesturing to his hip.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi and assistant trainer Steve Donohue spoke to Pavano on the mound and television replays showed Pavano saying, “It’s my hip.”

Pavano walked off the field with Donohue to a chorus of boos from the Yankee Stadium crowd, receiving an assortment of fist pounds in the Yankees’ dugout, before conversing with pitching coach Dave Eiland.

And the coke-fueled Yankee stumbleina I was sitting next to…boo’ed her serial-stained ass off too. Class personifried.

No, it's not.

It's stupidly small sample sizes. And it'S dependant on who was healthy when, how the SP's matched up. Their actual records are far more indicative of what each team is, than it is excluding 18 random games.

If somebody tells me, "look at this, it's interesting", I expect to be shown something that is worthwhile knowing, or at the very least entertaining. The Yankees and Royals record minus their head-to-heads is neither.

Still here Phil? I'm curious what you think about the situation at West Ham. You like the Zola hiring? I think it could go well.

I just moved back to the West Coast, which is alright, but I've quickly discovered that trying to get up at 6 in the morning to watch soccer is very unpleasant (especially with Reading in the second division and thus never on TV). But I caught a little bit of that West Ham game, and man it did not look good.

Along those lines, I am definitely looking forward to the Champion's League which will happen at a far more civilized time of day.
