MLB: Podsednik deserves trip to St. Louis

Yes…and I deserve to man the Alexis Texas table at the next EXXXOTICA convention.

Back at the start of the 2009 season, when Scott Podsednik was sitting at home in Texas, waiting for a call to begin work as a Major League baseball player once again, being selected as an All-Star had to be quite a distance removed from his thought process.

Fifty-six games played later, with Podsednik having emerged as the White Sox first-half Most Valuable Player, the veteran leadoff man still doesn’t seem to be banking on his name being called during the MLB All-Star Selection Show presented by Pepsi at 12 p.m. CT on Sunday.

Yet, Podsednik certainly deserves the honor.

“It has crossed my mind,” said Podsednik of being a White Sox All-Star representative in St. Louis. “But right now, I’m really planning on taking the four off-days and relaxing and spending time with family and getting my body prepared to play [74] more games and finish it out strong.”

Uh...I'm not sure I'm comfortable with this turning into a Mt. Rushmore of brick-house porn stars thread.

Aw what the hell, I'll get it started:

Alexis Texas
Gianna Michaels
Mia Bangg
Naomi Cruise

I kinda hate myself now.

What the heck is a "brick house" porn star?

To lead you in the right direction, I'll give you another list:

Lionel B. Richie Jr.
Thomas McClary
Milan Williams
William "WAK" King
Ronald La Pread
Walter Orange

I'm now going to slink off into the night and hide my shame.

Fantastic list. Don't forget to include Ashlynn Brooke, Jayden James, and Eva Angelina.

I should mention, Gianna Michaels is a personal fav.

Podsednik has certainly been a pleasant surprise for the team in that he hasn't played like Podsednik yet. But only somebody who also votes for league MVP based on who had the best September on a playoff team could think he is White Sox MVP or an AL All-Star.

But the media loves them some Scotty Pods. Last week on FOX, Buck said the White Sox better lock him up quick or teams will be banging down his door to give him buckets o' cash as a free agent in the offseason.

Wikipedia has way too much information. Someone should shut it down before it becomes self aware.

Also, I've learned things tonight that cannot be unlearned.

What the heck is a "brick house" porn star?

One who's mighty mighty, just letting it all hang out. Stacked, ain't holding nothing back.

Ashlynn Brooke ain't no damn brick house.

But Aurora Jolie is.

Lionel Richie was once cool. No really! He was!
But Scott Podsednik has never been worthy of an all star selection.

I'm hoping somehow Soriano jumps Beltran for the 3rd spot in the NL all-star voting.

That would put 3 left fielders as the starting NL all-star outfield. That would be awesome.

veteran leadoff man

read: toolsy white n' scrappy

BTW, when are they going to end the whole OF as a position in All-Star voting? Isn't this an anachronism? Can't we just vote by LF CF RF?

Also BTW, I'm not much of a drinker and I've had a few.

That would put 3 left fielders as the starting NL all-star outfield. That would be awesome.

In 2003, the three NL outfielders voted onto the team were Barry Bonds, Albert Pujols and Gary Sheffield.

However, the game was played at an AL park, allowing Bonds to DH and Jim Edmonds to play center. Which is too bad in a way--would have been interesting deciding which of those guys to put in center.

Wasn't Pods the 30-something man voted in a few years back? Hopefully this will happen again ... or for the first time, whichever.

Scotty Pods was voted in the all-star game in 2005.

I would laugh at this but I already used up all my laughter laughing at what a joke the All Star game is already anyway.

Podsednik couldn't even hack it as a fifth outfielder in the National League. But now some people want to put him on the American League All-Star team. That should tell you everything you need to know about the relative strength of the leagues.

Podsednik couldn't hack it as a fifth outfielder in the AL, either. He's just had a good couple months.

I just hope the Sox don't give him a long-term extension out of this.

The fleet-footed left-handed hitter also has 12 stolen bases, basically serving as an offensive savior as a catalyst at the top of the White Sox order.

Not to mention his 7 times caught stealing...
