MLB: Podsednik getting another shot

As the last truck from Santa Mira is unloaded…

Outfielder Scott Podsednik, a key reserve for the Rockies last season, is one of nine players the club announced Wednesday as non-roster invitees for Spring Training.

Podsednik overcame leg and midsection injuries that derailed his career with the White Sox—whom he helped to a World Series title in 2005—and batted .253 with one home run, 15 RBIs and 12 stolen bases in 93 games for the Rockies in 2008. As was the case last year, when he also was a non-roster invitee, he’ll compete for a left-handed-hitting reserve outfield role.

Podsednik getting another shot
For the Rockies' sake, hopefully it results in a 50 game suspension.
derailed his career with the White Sox
He had a career with the White Sox?

Last walk off home run in the World Series - Scott Podsednik.

Man, when he was with the Brewers it looked like his career was all set and he was going to make millions and millions. A scrappy white boy who all the girls loved with some speed. Just couldn't stay healthy enough to cash in.

Midsection injuries? That is vague and hilarious. It could be a heart attack or a nipple scrape.

Are nipples really in the midsection? Relatively, I suppose.

Relative to what? A collack?

Or hit the needle long enough.

True enough

Sorry, that bit made me choke on my beer.

And no mention of former Mariner Scott Podsednik? East coast bias indeed.

It's that very precise south-west, rather than west, coast of Lake Michigan bias that led them to not mention his time in Milwaukee either.

It's insulting. If Scott Podsednik had been playing in Boston his HoF train would be rolling already. He had 'teh FEAR' on the basepaths.

Perhaps "The Podsednik Adventure" will return?

He was so key for the Rockies they decided to offer him a NRI! How did they scrape the money together for such a huge offer?
