Here’s the full yearly look at MLB.com of draftees with Baseball connections. In addition, the Angels drafted the youngest (adopted) son of Muhammad Ali, and the Orioles picked up the younger brother of Ravens QB Joe Flacco.

I had no idea that Harold Baines Jr. was even *at* my school. How'd I miss that?

i see that almost all of those guys were round 35 or lower. sounds like more of a throwing a bone kind of thing

and the adopted son of a boxer and brother of a football player has got absolutely NOTHING to do with bloodlines of BASEBALL players

bet they wouldn't say that a son of john ballet dancer or john skater or john gymnast had baseball bloodlines. seeing as how ALL them guys too pansy/wimpy to be Real Men anyhow

To be fair, baseball chick, Ali and Flacco aren't in the MLB.com story on the baseball blood connections. They are in separate articles.

OF Everett Williams, second round pick of San Diego, is the newphew of Rockies hitting coach, former Rockies and Cubs manager, and long-time big-league DH/OF Don Baylor, 1979 NL MVP.

Which sport is more likely to grab players from the same family?

Baseball or hockey?

The NHL has the 6 Sutter brothers, the 4 Staal brothers (so far), the Espositos, the Mahovolichs, the Hulls, the Hunters, the Howes...nevermind the "I didn't know they had brothers that played" like Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzky.
