MLB.com: For the Garveys, home is all about family

“For us, it’s simply where the heart and soul of the family is,” Garvey said. “It’s a place that originally was a house, and this very talented woman makes it a home.

“It’s where we love and we live. We have so many kids, then we send them out into the world”—he laughs—“to find homes of their own.”

Irony is dead.

Irony is dead.

This reminds me of what Howard Stern said about Michael Landon: "He wasn't a family man; he was a families man."

That headline contains at least two more words that should be plural.

Garvey said it is "tough to sit down seven days a week, because we travel so much, busy schedules. But when we do, two or three days a week, we really want it not to just be about the meal, but to be about understanding everybody's lives and talking about it.
"Two or three days with Candace and the kids, two or three days with Barbi and the kids, and two or three with Bobbi and the kids. Let's see Greg Brock do that."

Somebody at MLB.com is having a laugh.

Anyway, always a good excuse to link to a Pat Jordan article

Surprised to see that my "nazi war criminals" tag didn't make it.

Well I think that is self contained in the "Dodgers" tag.

Whenever I see the name Steve Garvey, I think of the Kinks' record "A Well-Respected Man": "Well, he's oh so good, and he's oh so fine, and he's oh so healthy in his body and his mind / He's a well-respected man about town, doing the best things so conservatively..."

I wonder if that's his natural hair color?

Which one is Hitler and which one is Eva Braun?

I couldn't make it out because of the 10 dogs on the left

OK, I clicked the link and read the "article"

Surely this is a pisstake? I mean this puts the yellow in cheese. The dreadful stench of the content was only exceeded by the putrid quality of the prose.

On the old Bill Simmons unintentional comedy scale this offering would rate upwards of 97.
