MLB.com: Steve Gilbert: D-backs’ two slams rout Astros

Grand slams by Miguel Montero and Chris Young led an offensive attack that blitzed the Astros for an 11-5 win.

The win moves Arizona back into sole possession of first place in the National League West after the Dodgers lost to the Brewers late Saturday evening.

This is the first time in AZ history that the team has hit two grand slams in the same game. Since acquiring Adam Dunn, the Dbacks have scored 38 runs in 5 games, with .985 team OPS and 10 home runs—including 0 home runs by Dunn.

Dare I point out that Dunn walked 3 times during this game and scored two runs, and was on base 5 times in total?

JDF2, I was being facetious :)
Dunn's line with the Dbacks, 5 games: .333/.520/.444, good for .964 OPS

From Nick Piecoro's recap
http://www.azcentral.com/sports/diamondbacks/articles/2008/08/16/20080816spt-dbgame.html

Since the trade, Dunn has yet to do what he is best known for - hit the long ball - but he drew three more walks, had two hits and scored twice.

With the Diamondbacks, he is 6 for 18 (.333) with two doubles and seven walks, reaching base in more than half of his plate appearances (13 of 25).

"He hasn't hit five or six home runs or whatever yet, but I think he's taken a lot of pressure off of everybody in the lineup," Melvin said. "Just his presence in the lineup has done a lot of for the rest of the guys."

Blue Jays, 3.4%
Yankees, 3.0%

Why does Accuscore.com hate America?

Is "sole possession of first place" the same as "in first place"?

Can you be in "dual possession of a tie for first place"?

I'm not exactly sure who to tell, but I can't link to this site's submission policy.

Oswalt was awesome today. Perfect location, good movement. Pretty much knocked the crap out of the D Backs bats before they even got a chance to get them off their shoulders.

If the Dodgers hold their lead, then the D Backs are 6 1/2 games back in the Wild Card.
