MLB’s stat-crunchingest video game predicts a World Series win for L.A. - Polygon

OOTP recently released version 19. Although I’ve bought a few versions I haven’t played it much. The options are pretty daunting. Is there an easy way to import rosters managed somewhere else? (I’d like to sim out a league I play in Dynasty League Baseball.)

I’m also curious about online league play. Is there a way for people to play head-to-head live? I see a broadcast to the web option but it seems this is something for GM only leagues where the Commissioner sims the games.

I know a few of you play. I’m interested in reading your thoughts on the game, especially in the use of online leagues.

Thanks in advance!

I am a bit like Jim. Played it years ago but it was getting complicated enough I wanted to hire an assistant GM

I've been playing since v4 i believe and its certainly more complicated than it used to be, but its the best baseball sim ever IMO.You can make any league you want, basically any size. You can do Historical exhibition matches with any team from any era. It has mlb rosters built in now. Also they have improved 3d a lot this year.
It does have an option for everything, so it can be pretty daunting for a while.

I dont do online play so cant help you there. I dont believe you can do head to head though.

I don't belive you can import from other games, although you can import from csv's It uses the lahman database for historical rosters and imports from that for historical games. Can you export a roster fro DMB in csv?

Same here. After they overhauled after Version 6, it got way too complex unless you set a bunch of things to be auto-managed. When you can create multiple levels of minor leagues, international leagues, etc., you can definitely make a much fuller universe than in previous versions, but I don't know how you keep up with everything unless you're doing it multiple hours a day.

It's been all downhill since MicroLeague Baseball.

At least since OOTP 17, you can hire an assistant GM. I take care of the mlb stuff, and let my assistant handle minor league stuff, like promotions and signing minor league free agents to make sure all the teams are staffed.

Yeah, you can basically control how much you want to. I usually let him take care of the minors.
