MLive: Dombrowski Says Leyland Welcome Back for 2013

Mr Dombrowski says 2013 is Mr Leyland’s call.

“I’m not talking about anything about me,” Leyland said recently. “I haven’t done that all year. Everybody’s known that I want to manage. That’s no secret. But we’re not talking about me.

“When someone says, ‘Do you want to manage?’ I like to manage. But that has nothing to do with our situation.”

Leyland made it clear when he signed a one-year extension last season that he prefers to work on one-year deals so there can be a clean break anytime he or the Tigers want there to be.
