Yairo Munoz hit a walk-off three-run homer as the Cardinals scored five runs in the ninth inning to pull out a 10-8 win over the Pirates on a bizarre Thursday night at Busch Stadium.
The Cardinals went into the ninth down 8-5 and sent five hitters to the plate against Pirates closer Felipe Vazquez, and all of them scored.
Ouch.

1. salvomania Posted: June 01, 2018 at 12:54 PM (#5684071)He seemed completely overmatched, though, striking out in 6 of his first 7 ab, and going 2-for-18 with 11 strikeouts in 11 games (3 starts) before being sent back to Memphis in mid-April.
He was recalled on May 19, and since May 22, he's 14-for-31 with a .452/.485/.677 line in 9 games (8 starts).
Nice pickup for Piscotty, and that doesn't even include Max Shrock, who's starting at 2b for Memphis.
oy, i stopped watching this after we were up 4-1, figured we were at a pretty high win probability, got busy with some work, eventually turned on the basketball game and forgot to check scores, forgetting that we've found a lot of creative ways to give away leads this year.
anyway, all's well etc. and thanks to modern science i can watch the fun parts!
And Grichuk, -0.3.
And that's all defense, where he's -0.9. Even though his numbers with the Cardinals weren't terrible, I watched a lot of games in which he looked downright awful in right. He has no natural grace, just a lot of awkwardness compounded by poor routes and bad judgement.
Grichuk could never solve for “pitch recognition”. If he hasn’t got it now, he never will. He’s on his way out.
Wong plays great defense but on a team that is desperate for hitting, he needs to sit. He’ll be traded soon. Not on his way out yet but if he can’t get back to where he was last year his days as a starter are numbered
Last year Wong had a 109 ops+, if he has options, he should be the highest paid player in triple A...he needs to get everyday playing time to return to form, but right now he doesn't deserve it at the Major league level.
they should have given her a mound visit or two for this game.
