Nationals cut Will Ohman mid-game

Baseball can be a rough game at times, especially during Spring Training, but Nationals reliever Will Ohman got a bit of a surprise on Sunday when Washington cut him…before their game with the Cardinals was even over.

That seems a bit odd. Why not wait until the game is over? Guess they wanted him out of the clubhouse or didn't want to risk him going home before the end of the game or something.

The author is using "cut" here to mean reassigned to minor league camp, rather than released.
