Nationals cut Will Ohman mid-game

That seems a bit odd. Why not wait until the game is over? Guess they wanted him out of the clubhouse or didn't want to risk him going home before the end of the game or something.

The author is using "cut" here to mean reassigned to minor league camp, rather than released.

I'm surprised Ohman would go for that. He doesn't look emo.

Why not wait until the game is over?

Because a right handed hitter was at the plate?

Ohman should telekinetically send a sheet of plate glass through the GM's neck.
