New York Mets find home for Tim Byrdak’s chicken ‘Little Jerry Seinfeld’ - ESPN New York

$500 to cover living costs. For a chicken.

The New York Mets’ new team mascot, “Little Jerry Seinfeld,” has found a permanent home.

The chicken will be heading to Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, N.Y., according to a spokesperson for the sanctuary. Lefty reliever Tim Byrdak, who came up with the idea to purchase the chicken and didn’t want to see it killed, presented the chicken to Farm Sanctuary media relations specialist Meredith Turner on Sunday. The team also presented Farm Sanctuary with a $500 check to cover living costs for the chicken.

16 years ago, one day,
I was walking down the street
I was cruising in Brooklyn
You know what I mean?
Something was cooking,
But wasn't yet a chicken.

I know my chicken.
You got to know your chicken.

Does he bounce shecks too?

One of my friends in London is a Mets fan entirely due to Jerry Seinfeld and one of Tony Kubek's interviews in the 1969 World Series where adopted Queensite Louis Armstrong says he's rooting for the Mets to win in his box seat at Shea.

There's certainly worse reasons to root for a baseball team.

First of all, you can't be the team mascot if you are never anywhere near the team. Second of all, ahem, shouldn't the chicken be named "Tim Birdak"?

The most surprising part of all this is that Frank Francisco claims to own a chicken farm in the Dominican.

Immediately prior to watching that video, I had watched this one, and now my brain is broken.

The New York Mets’ new team mascot, “Little Jerry Seinfeld,

Shouldn't the name have been Kenny Rogers?

No truth to the rumor that "Little Jerry" was on the grassy knoll with Roger McDowell.
