I have only one question. If any other player was batting .289 over his last 39 games, as Ord??ez is, would there be a special article written about it?

I'll let you know when one of Jose Offerman, Troy O'Leary or Carl Everett accomplish that feat.

Yes I am bitter.

Yes I am bitter.

Gary,

There's a saying "Don't wish for something, you just might get it." It seems to me that someone much like you was vociferously stating "Jimy must go!" about a month ago. Well, he went and things have not turned out quite the way you hoped they would. The world works this way sometimes. I'm not happy with the progression of the Orioles over the past 4 seasons, but this hardly makes me "bitter." Things could be a lot worse. Just be glad you're not a Devilrays, Expos or Pirates fan. They really do have it worse than we do, no...? :-) ...

Tony, the bitterness comes from being so close to winning only to blow iy one way or another. Tampa fans have noy experienced this. Expo fans could site 1994 as highway robbery but it still does not approach the calamities us Red Sox fans have to relive.

Jimy had to go. This stretch has been the toughest portion of the 2001 schedule and it comes at a time when no Red Sox batter could hit a basketball with a tennis racket.

I am now working on my Duquette Must Go! campaign.
