‘Next Knuckler’ winner Booty off to D-backs camp

Former Major League infielder and Louisiana State quarterback Josh Booty was named the winner of “The Next Knuckler,” MLB Network’s first reality series competition, Thursday evening. The victory earns Booty a non-roster invitation to the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Spring Training camp, to which he’ll report Friday.

My scouting instincts were correct on this one, as I picked Josh after watching the first episode. Not too much of a surprise, as he's the only one in the group to have played pro baseball, even MLB for a cup of coffee. It'll be interesting to see if he can be even remotely effective against pro hitters.

There's been a Booty call?

I had no idea Josh Booty was a major leaguer. He was a sneaky-good player in Madden 04 though.

I remember college football announcers saying Booty has a World Series ring.
