Neyer: Which Cap Shall Johnny Damon Wear Into The Coop?

Damon has 2,723 hits. Once he joins the big club, probably in the middle of the May, he’s going to take over in left field and propel the Indians to an American League Central title over the defense-starved Tigers. Damon will blaze through October, topping his month with a World Series-clinching home run in Game 6.

The Indians, grateful for all that Damon’s done for him, will sign him to a two-year contract, and he’ll collect his 3,000th hit while wearing Chief Wahoo on the 13th of June in 2013.

If he makes it, Red Sox. And with the caveman look.

..."The Coop"?

Damon had 6 years in Kansas City (5 full) to only 4 in NY & Boston. Best by OPS+ was NY. Might be close enough to let him choose.

I didn't realize Cooperstown had a dress code for visitors...

It took Neyer 15 days to think of this??

A suit or business casual, I guess. Only inductees wear team caps. - Brock Hanke

There will obviously be a secret bidding war between the Red Sox and the Yankees, the former backed by the Republicans and the latter backed by the Dems. This will be the case whether the attire in question is a team cap worn at the induction speech or merely a souvenir sweatshirt worn in the crowd, since gang color wars exist on many levels.

You got that the wrong way round. Wake up and smoke the objective pipe.

Wake up and look at the team colors.

A "I went to Cooperstown and all I got was this lousy cap" cap

Nazi grey and communist red?

Nazi grey and communist red?

Well, you sure got one of them right. Photographs don't lie.

No they don't. OTOH, if you think that's a photograph, your eyes might be.

Sorry, I should have put a smiley face in there or something just so you wouldn't take my comment literally, but my customers think those two hammer and sickle flags represent one of my better photoshop efforts.

I see two red flags with one yellow pixel in the middle of each of them.

Low res images on the screen, but they're easily recognizable in the printed version. I thought the caption would've suggested what they were, though.
