Oh screw the playoff scramble and the no-no, two amazing things happened in today's Cubs-DBacks games. No, nothing as amazing as the Cubs actually winning but ...

Alfonso Soriano went 1 for 1 ... with 3 walks. None intentional.

But even more amazing ...

Mike Jacobs, yes that Mike Jacobs, was the DBacks 1B ...

and the Cubs intentionally walked Mike Jacobs.

Theo, Jed or one of the geeks in the computer lab might want to send Dale an email about that one.

Remember when people said the Cubs wouldn't lose 100 games this year? Now they have to go 4-1 just to avoid 100 losses. Thank you, Theo & Co for the wonderful next few years.

PFFT! That road has already been trodden by Mike Rizzo and company, and look where it got them.

No, Davey Johnson is not available to manage the Cubs in 3 years, so don't even ask.

We won't talk about last night's debacle, thank you very much.

And now McCutchen is hurt, which knocks the Pirates Chase for .500 odds down to approximately 0.01 percent.

Colorado could get there as well. A six-game losing streak to close out the season would do it. (they're at 62-95, having lost last night)

McCutchen left the game Thursday but played Friday. Something subsequent?
