Today's win gave the Braves 23 consecutive wins in games started by Kris Medlen, which broke the record.

Time to slot in the Cubs' Chase for 100. They "just" need to win out against Houston to stay put at 99 losses.

Ouch. Rockies need to win 1 against the Diamondbacks (in Arizona) to avoid 100. They were swept by the Dodgers and were outscored 18-1.

[3] Today's win gave the Braves 23 consecutive wins in games started by Kris Medlen, which broke the record.

From Baseball-Reference's Pitching Streak Finder, edited for Medlen's performance today:

Longest Streak with [team winning] From 1918 to 2012, as Starter

Tom Filer?

Yeah, Filer is awesome. Over 6 years. OK, he only pitched in 3 of them. That's got to be one of the all-time awesomest flukes. Over those 3 "years", he was just 13-10 with 33 starts, 191 IP and an 89 ERA+. Yet somehow in the middle of all that mediocrity, perfection.

I'm rooting like hell for the Dodgers to catch the Cardinals.

I'm rooting for them to end up tied.
