The Pirates won tonight! Making them 4-10 since the big 19-inning win.

They just have to go 11-18 now to have their first winning season since 1992. Can they do it?

There's 27 games left for the Pirates. 10-17 would get them to 81-81, which would break the streak of losing seasons.

Chris Carpenter threw 50 pitches today. I'm going to go ahead and pencil him in for the big one-game playoff.

It will never happen, but it would hilarious for them to finish at .500, tie for the second wildcard, and lose the 163rd game (which, of course, counts as a regular season contest).

The magic wore off in Pittsburgh for a second straight year while Baltimore continues its magical run.

Cmon, with four teams separated by a game and a half with four weeks to go, any team can grab it---this is and should continue to be a great race!

It would get especially interesting if either the Giants, the Reds, or the Nats goes on a weeklong mini-swoon, say 1-6 or 2-5, and all of a sudden they've only got a 3- or 4-game lead (or less, if they're SF).

Lotta baseball still to play. And I've only mentioned the NL.
