Yeah, but Schumaker would also be playing instead of Craig.
these pitchers should throw their pitches with confidence
These people are crazy, you don't need to be proven right.
Craig swings at the same pitch again, though, so I guess it could have been a straight steal.
Annnd pops it up. Of course. At least Craig made contact!
My buddy made a "meme" with a picture of Holliday saying
"If Mike puts me in tonight, at least CFB will root for me"
the baseball crew has 4 latvians on loan from covering soccer
That's why Steve Trachsel was so much better than those chumps.
BRIAN WILSON USES SCREAM-IN-DUGOUT!
Times two.
If there was a makeable play on that, the Conradian belongs to the runner. Lohse shouldn't have even considered that play with a decent running performance.
Agreed. I have zero confidence in the Cards' offense right now.
It would be one thing if Posey, Panda, Cain, etc. were winning this series. But it's been Vogelsong, Pagan, and Marco ####### Scutaro. Just a disappointing few days.
I think the Conradian aspect of it was the spiked throw to first. That was my thought anyway, not sure what gb was thinking. Agreed that Pagan getting thrown out at the plate would have been blunderiffic.
We've all seen the Birds routinely break out for 4-5-6-7 runs, often initiated by a non-usual suspect. Craig looks close--he's making contact!---Holliday hit the ball hard, Matt Cain is not a god but a man, there's still 24 outs to go.
I like our chances.
you are kidding right?
Giants suck at Game 7s [X]
Besides not being able to see the type of pitch, whether it's up or down, whether it's inside or outside, how the batter reacts to it, or how the catcher reacts it, nothing.
Except, you know, for Game 7 of the World Series last year, which you guys called. (Not that the historical stats are meaningful regardless, of course.)
You don't see anything. The plate is hidden, the ball pretty much disappears from view. The behind the pitcher angle is simply the right place to watch a pitch from.
What are the announcers supposed to do, talk about THIS game?
Hey, a walk! This inning is looking up a bit. Oh wait, Descalso.
When you've watched 98% and probably more of the pitches in your life from one view, I just can't personally can't see the grumping about the occasional different angle.
YMMV, as they say.
When I'm watching a pitch, I like to be able to watch the pitch.
he got'em at 3rd
I love alternate camera angles for everything else, I would prefer for them to pan out more for the defense, but for the pitch, you cannot see anything from behind the home plate. They might as well turn off the camera completely for the pitch, it will give the viewer the exact same experience.
I was sure that was going to get over.
Big play by Crawford. Off the bat I thought it was a hit.
Also, Cain is getting squeezed a bit.
3-2 count after 3-2 count after 3-2 count
gives me a d8mn ulcer
EDIT: OK, on the replay, I see that Crawford did in fact have to leap... I would have preferred not to have the tying run not score due to a good play...
Yes. She's in the line for apps.
I don't think so, Cain is getting the real strike zone, it's about time that they stopped calling that 4 inch outside pitch a strike.
I guess I'm Mr. Contrarian this series (although I am agreeing with what you quoted), but I think this has been McCarver's best series in awhile.
She's asking if she's in the right line to get the new apps. It's a joke about how old people like iPhones, but don't know anything about technology.
I think you are underrating that play. That's a hit more than half the time.
After watching the replay, do you still think that?
That's an awfully low standard, I can see it being possible, but I'm not sure that is actually a compliment.
Our vision must be different, I think the slow motion cemented it as a web gem.
Oh, duh. I think I just couldn't get away from hearing "amps" and couldn't figure out why that was funny.
