What a collapse by the cardals. Three clinching games and they werent competitive in any of them. Even thr 2004 Yankees took the Red Sox.to extra innings a couple times before grttkng blown out.

Can the guy who rates the series please let us know if this is shaping up to be the shitt!est 7-game series ever???

if it stands, this will be the 4th time the cardinals have given up a 7 game series leading 3-1. i don't think anyone else has even done it twice.

Bob Schieffer just told the president and Romney to stop talking because "Shooty" is enraged.

Time has no meaning there.

I'm back on the game in any case. The wife finally got sick of it and went to bed.

Buck says this offense has been shut down for 2 1/2 games....and I hate to say it, because it takes away from pitchers, but outside of Vogelsong, I don't think either Cain or Zito has been that impressive in their games.

If the Cardinals do come back from this, I will probably just admit they are a "team of destiny" and not bother watching the World Series.
   428. bunyon Posted: October 22, 2012 at 09:58 PM (#4279821)
That one has turned into a parody.

I think it was Harvey that pointed out that three times a team has swept the LCS while the other LCS went seven. In all three cases, the sweeping team lost the World Series.

Apparently the route Pence intended to take to that ball was under construction, so he was forced to use a detour.

Somebody mentioned the doc with Marco Scutaro awhile back.... there's a good one on the minors from the early 90's I highly recommend, "Minor Leagues / Major Dreams." Even the biggest Twins fan has probably forgotten about Brian Raabe, but Raabe is pretty darn cool in this, and that you never heard of him is kind of the point. Check it out! If you can find it.

I've rewatched the triple-lindy 3 run single past Panda's ass now many times, I'm a little sympathetic to the Cardinals shortstop. I think I'd need to see the 3,000 frame shot from the pitcher's mound, or from the IF to be convinced though. Does the ball appear to come off the bat towards Kozma's right? Perhaps. Remember, pitchers talk about this a lot on come backers, they are missing a dimension on the ball as it rockets towards them. Outfielders have the luxury of time when gauging depth of flyballs, I'm thinking Kozma was fooled just enough.

Kozma, having seen presumably thousands of groundballs, I'm inclined to understand an initial reaction to his right. What I can't evaluate is how big of a deal Panda's ass had to play in all of this.
