Heck, the Yankees may need three pitchers. Two starters and a reliever. There aren't enough holes to plug.

They've got Kahnle and Warren coming back in the next week or so and Montgomery in about the same time frame.

Plus Bird.

Let's avoid the fainting couch for now ...

HOW WILL THE YANKEES LOSE TODAY????

WILL THE RED SOX EVER STOP WINNING????

I'm just glad this season's still got over 110 games to go. If days had 48 hours this ####### game would've kept me awake for 47 of them.

So I saw Wellington Castillo got hit with an 80-game suspension, and I'm going to level here: Even after two years, I *still* kind of have moments where I forget he and Willson Contreras aren't the same person.

Ball Saxbury.

Won't be 9 straight series.

Start another .... uh, Friday!

Angels offense making a surprise cameo appearance in the top of the ninth! 3-1 deficit is suddenly a 5-3 lead.

I forget he and Willson Contreras aren't the same person.

I do that, too. Earlier this year I was talking about Contreras to some folks and kept saying Castillo, and needless to say, they were confused.

I think the Angels sweep the Yankees this weekend. That magical road trip is probably going to reverse itself with this horrid pitching staff.
   109. Los Angeles El Hombre of Anaheim Posted: May 23, 2018 at 10:39 PM (#5678600)
The Angels have lost 8 of 11 coming in today. They just got swept by the Yanks. Let's not get crazy
   110. Howie Menckel Posted: May 23, 2018 at 10:39 PM (#5678601)
Welington has one l and Willson has 2 (yes, should be the reverse, and this probably doesn't help)

I guess the upshot is that ones and twos belong in the WCs.

Angels bullpen about to blow another one.

Cubs weren't exactly pissing away chance after chance in this one, but that 7th inning still really hurts.

Well, the Washington Capitals won Game 7 in impressive fashion, 4-0.

LOL no.

Kole Calhoun can't hit for schitte, but boy, can he play defense..

I'm not a hockey fan, but the thought of a final series between Las Vegas and Tampa Bay seems like it would've brought the wrath of God down upon the entire NHL enterprise. Hockey belongs to Canada and cities where the temperature at least goes down to zero once in a while, not in the ####### Sun Belt.

So now the question is: Will Bryce Harper root for his home town team or his home team team in the finals? Not that I give a #### one way or the other.

Sorry was stuck in meetings all morning(Sydney time), but yes I'm pleased. Red Sox top of line-up goes 0 for 11, but does draw 5 BB, and only scores once.

Apparently pitching counts; Red Sox lock down a 4-1 with 3 in the ninth. The magical Joe Kelly moves to 3-0.

Red Sox now genuinely in first place with no % points rubbish to figure. Tied with NY in the loss column but with 3 more wins.

Still scared of NY offense though. NY pitching...not so much.

Will Bryce Harper root for his home town team or his home team team in the finals?

He has been tweeting support for the Vegas whatever-they-ares previously, so it's a good bet that will continue. He will look good in whatever pinstripes he ends up wearing next year, da not-hitting, not-walking, can't-field-his-position bum!

a year ago, the Vegas NHL team now in the Stanley Cup Finals did not exist

Actually I posed that question tongue-in-cheek, since the Post ran a story on Harper's hockey preferences a week or so ago.

So how many other sports icons have openly rooted against their team's home town teams in the postseason? I remember LeBron James wearing a Yankees cap during the 2007 Indians-Yankees ALDS, and taking the heat for it, but I can't think of anyone else. At least Harper is from Las Vegas, but James was born and raised in Akron.
