Not again: Yankees lose yet another player to injury as Gary Sánchez hits IL

The New York Yankees might want to consider taking the field wearing bubble wrap moving forward. The team was hit by yet another injury Friday, as catcher Gary Sánchez was placed on the injured list.

The 26-year-old Sánchez will miss at least the next 10 days due to a left calf strain. He was hitting .268/.333/.732 with six home runs to open the season.

The move leaves the Yankees with quite a few big names on the IL.

Not to mention that Dancin' Betances was diagnosed with a bone spur in his right shoulder and was given an injection and shut down for 4 weeks.

No help for that bullpen full of arsonists any time soon ...

Somewhere Michael Pineda is catching wind of all these DL, erm, IL stints and thinking "man, if I was still there I could really help out with that! You can't spell Michael Pineda without an IL stint in there!"
