N.Y. Daily News: Chacon could be on the way out

I barely lived through the cancellation of “El Show De Iris Chacon”...and now this!

It appears unlikely that Shawn Chacon will make his scheduled start Sunday, but that could be the least of his concerns. With Chacon failing to show any of the magic he had last season, his time with the Yankees could be coming to an end.

...But it is not just Chacon’s performances that have been discussed. Sources indicated that his attitude has also become an issue, particularly as it relates to how often he’s been used and how much patience Torre has shown him during his outings. There are also questions about his work ethic. One source said the Yankees have become so irked with Chacon that he’s “not in their plans” for the future.

The reality-based community knew Chacon was horrible and due to crash back this year. It's mind-boggling that a stiff like him would have work ethic and attitude problems. He should have been shining Torre's shoes.

For whatever it's worth, he had a reputation as a huge pothead back when he was in Colorado. That could explain the poor judgement.

No idea what the Yankees were smoking, though.

Which of you was trying to tell me this guy was going to be a stud? Oh, yeah, that was all of you.

Do the Yankess acknowledge the existence of this so-called "future"?

Chacon in New York: 11-6, 4.41 ERA over 23 starts. That's really about what you could expect from him; he just divided it up in a funny way,

Quick! Stop the presses! A pitcher witha near 1:1 BB/K ratio has been disitinctly mediocre!

He was helpful last year. The Yanks got what they could out of him. If he indeed has attitude problems, good riddance.

Chacon not working out? At least the Yankees still have Mr. "10-0" Aaron Small to build the franchise around...

Wait, where are the Red Sox fans who were complaining that the Yankees got a steal last year this spring?
