NY Daily News: Warner Fusselle, voice of the Brooklyn Cyclones, dead at 68

He was also involved with the Baseball’s Greatest Hits CD compilations of the late 1980s/early 1990s. RIP.

The “Fuse,” as he was affectionately called, had been with the team since its inception in 2001, missing only a handful of games over 11 years with the club. Brooklyn general manager Steve Cohen said Fusselle’s iconic voice and attention to detail endeared him to fans.

“Warner was a great person to tell the Brooklyn story,” Cohen said. “He had a unique way of painting the picture.”

Most recently, Fusselle had been working on television broadcasts for the St. John’s University baseball games for CBS Sports Network.

I met Mr. Fusselle in the 1970s after a Nets game at Nassau Coliseum(in the ABA days). He was a broadcaster for the Virginia Squires. He was very nice, took a few minutes to talk to me and gave me an autograph. Very sorry to hear about his untimely death.

He was a broadcaster for the Virginia Squires.

If that didn't kill him, you know he was tough!

RIP.

We need late-night and off-season TWIB marathons on MLB Network.

I love that idea Rowland. And "This Week in Pro Football" on the NFL Network. Instead of running the same highlights hour after hour. Give us Boomers a treat.

When I was first exposed to ESPN in 1988 I remember him narrating the ESPN Baseball Magazine Shows. RIP.
