N.Y. Post: A-ROD HITS STRIP JOINT WITH TORONTO BABE (RR)

BAD STRIP JOINT, BAD!

Yankees superstar Alex Rodriguez stepped up to the plate with a mysterious, busty blonde in Toronto, as these intimate, exclusive photos reveal.

The cozy duo dined with two pals at a pricey steakhouse late Sunday night, then headed to a glitzy strip club before making their way to his hotel, where the pair ducked into an elevator and headed upstairs just after midnight.

...Home to what one Web site calls, “Toronto’s most beautiful all-nude dancers,” the Brass Rail is known for its booming sound system, overflowing crowds, overpriced beers and $20 lap dances - a drop in the bucket for Rodriguez, who has a 10-year contract worth $252 million.

Rodriguez and the blonde spent an hour or so at the Brass Rail, the witness said.

Thanks to Was Watching...indeed!

Typical A-Rod. He always scores in Canada in May, but never can close the deal in New York come October.

   9. The Bones McCoy of THT Posted: May 30, 2007 at 02:27 PM (#2384314)
Does this count as a slap against the institution of marriage?

I guess watching the Dome open and close got him a little ornery. Seeing the CN Tower once it opened probably pushed him over the edge.

OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Canada.

While the Post is clearly out of line here, it has to be noted that A-Rod is officially a slime-ball (IMO). Yeah, yeah, players having been behaving like this since the days of Abner Double-D, but it's still sleazy.

Best Regards

John

This story makes me angry. A real reporter would have followed ARod to his room and not ended his story at the elevator doors.

Who among us would turn down the chance to sleep with as many beautiful women as possible if we were in his position? I only judge him in that he shouldn't get married and play the field, he could pick a better-looking woman, and he could be more discreet.

But then, he wouldn't be ARod, would he?

Funny how they catch A-Rod but not saint Jeter. On a radio show up here (not a sports station) they were talking about it and pretty much everyone said that it was no shock, that many athletes do it and someone who used to work in the sports media called in and mentioned how the wives always know it.

Safe bet A-Rod annoyed someone at the post and they felt that people wanted to be able to tear a new strip off of him. As a Jay fan I hope this helps increase the odds of A-Rod leaving NY for good at the end of the season (hopefully not to just go to Boston though).

Or anything from THT for that matter. Part of that's my fault, but I'd link a Jaffe or Gassko article and it would get tepid response so I gave up.

I feel dirty but decided to read the article. It appears there's a possibility that the woman could have been the date of two other men who were with A-Rod.

To me, there's a difference between going to a strip club (which I think is wrong) and cheating on your wife (which is really wrong).

And that's the last comment I'll have on the matter.

Edit-In my haste, it appears that I didn't read the article well enough as it says the couple went up to A-Rod's rome by themselves.

Later that night.

The chick is in bed and moans, "Ahhhh, Derek that was terrific.

"You mean Alex." replies ARod.

"I said Alex. Would you rather have me moaning his name while making love to you or moaning your name while making love to him?"

"Ummm, you are right." replies ARod.

I've never really gotten the appeal of the strip club. Sure, you can get real, real close to an attractive, naked woman, but that's not close enough. Esp. in a nearly all-male environment. The smell of cheap cologne alone is enough to ruin any vicarious pleasure.

Cheap thrill, but not cheap enough.

This sentence:

and this sentence:

don't seem to go together.

I don't particularly enjoy strip clubs but not because they don't provide something worth looking at. It's that everything else is so expensive, from the $11 beers to the $14 ATM fee to the expected $20 lap dances. I actually don't remember if it was $11 for a beer, but that was absolutely the ATM fee at Scores in NYC when I went for a bachelor party.

I may have the capacity for self-delusion to the point where I believe Randolph will eventually stop using Schoenweis against righties, but I can't trick myself into forgetting that the vast majority of strippers hate my guts and only want to separate me from as much money as possible.

Hooray!
Now I can say I've been to the same strip club as A-Rod

Although I have to agree, if the Brass Rail is one of the classier strip clubs as is often asserted, then I think the entire institution of the strip club is not for me (The Brass Rail is the only one I've ever been to, and that was due to a reluctant birthday ambush by friends)

What exactly is the appeal?
If I can ask without sounding too stupid

It seems to me that sites like Deadspin, Can't Stop The Bleeding, Kissing Suzy Kolber, and With Leather brought on the Liz Smith version of sports coverage. My railing against Will Leitch is mainly sour grapes. It sounds like he has a fun job [but I have an inkling of a doubt about that Berman story which propelled Deadspin into my consciousness (and likely the consciousness of others.)] Meanwhile, I spend more time posting here than performing my boring paperpushing that I'm supposed to do in this adult day care center that is called my job.

OTOH, the Post is just treating Arod like they treat Paris Hilton.

Top 10 observations the blond woman will tell the NY Post tomorrow:

10. "A guy that fast should steal more bases."

9. "The mirrors over the bed were a bad idea. He kept complaining that I was blocking his view."

8. "More like a-rod."

7. "He didn't leave any makeup for me in the morning."

6. "The guy's a natural at short."

5. "It was like 2006. He couldn't do anything right once he was on third base."

4. "I asked him how it was and he said: 'It wasn't about the money, I'm happy in Texas, I'd make the same decision again in a heartbeat.'"

3. "I thought he left me a note on the pillow but it was a bill from somebody named Scott!"

2. "I asked about being tied and he went, like totally limp."

1. "He swore it was 'this big' a month ago."

He was so fat that the wind carried to right a lot more when he was playing first base.

He was so fat that the second baseman never had the sun in his eyes.

He was so fat that after he left left Boston as a free agent that part of the California coastline slipped into the Pacific.

He was so fat that he took up three roster spots.

He was so fat that that the media called interviewing him after the game as 'the post-game spread.'

He was so fat that the Mets first base coach carried a defibulator.

He was so fat that on hot days all you could smell at Shea was bacon.

He was so fat that his arms weren't long enough to do push-ups.

He was so fat that he affect the tides on the west coast.

He was so fat that when he he flushed the toilet in the clubhouse at Shea that it caused a tsunami in the Harlem River.

He was so fat that scouting reports didn't say he'd one day eclipse Eddie Murray but that he'd cause an eclipse for Eddie Murray.

He was so fat that people mistook him for Eric Gregg.

Strip clubs don't really degrade women. They degrade men.

Men are so caught up in their sexual desires that they will spend outrageous sums of money while girls pretend to like them. The strippers are simply taking advantage of the customers.

You could say strip clubs exploit women, earning more that a reasonable amount of off their labor (although the nicer clubs don't have to do that; they make plenty and the girls make plenty too).

I've never been to a strip club for religion and because I feel they degrade women.

Show me where in the bible it says though shalt not hoist a few brews and group strange drug addicted men hating women?

Oh come all ye faithful?

Sorry.

They provide a service. They are free willed. They are compensated, more fairly. This derading line of thought is milarky postulated by the religious right and the femanazis. I'm shocked MAAD hasn't gotten involved some how.

John, I'm not usually the spelling police for good reason, but I think you spelled one of these wrong given the context.

I went to a strip club twice during my freshman year at university. I was part of a group of guys, and after the second visit we pretty much agreed that:

1) The women aren't all that attractive.
2) The food/drink is expensive.
3) There are some really creepy guys that go to the club, and we don't want to become them.

I haven't been back to a strip club in the past 17 years. If other guys want to go, all the power to them (and the women that separate them from their money).

But count me out.

Better? 21st as opposed to 18th century context.

That's what you meant, right?

A guy I know doesn't like strip clubs and porn for the same reason. He isn't getting any, so he's not interested in the stimuli. Although I feel strips clubs are pretty degrading to everyone in them, I don't mind my sweetie having gone to or if he wants going again. Of course he's decided that they really aren't that great, and rather go bowling or fishing or something.

And why take a date to a "strip club"?

I've been to strip clubs with women several times, good things always occurred afterwards.

When Posada got in front of the plate, would it have been legal for Clayton to swing the bat and knock the crap out of him?

I assume Pettitte had stepped off the rubber, in which case I don't think Clayton would be allowed to do that.

If he didn't step off the rubber, he could have hit Posada and it would've been catcher's interference.

But ARod always chokes in the clutch situations.

I can't imagine anyone having a problem with a bunch of nice tits getting pressed into your face.

Since no one has said it:

He should have his strippers taken away.

I can't go to a restaurant just for an appetizer. I might skip dessert, but never the main course.

At least ARod got a doggie bag.

That's because most people go to churches silly.

Or mosques, IIRC. Most of my crew is at least nominally Catholic, but I think we've all given in to the temptation of the white trash ballet at some point except for the Cardinal. They seemed alot more fun when you're in your 20s. But they're hellholes for the most part.

Exhibit A

That was the local place near me when I was in my 20s that was in that story. Most of the clientele isn't like that, but that's sick.

The way in which they degrade women, MHS, is that they degrade men's opinion of what to expect from women.

What is wrong with me expecting my gf to take her close off and dance whenever I wave a 20 at her?

In all seriousness I don't buy it.

I'm all for that, as long as they are nice ones. It's just that most of em in such places aren't, they're bags of silicone.
   97. Daryn Posted: May 30, 2007 at 06:47 PM (#2384650)
As a father of three girls, all I'll say is that I hope that you (MHS) never have any girls of your own, or frankly, a wife. It will either be sad for them or embarrassing for you.

I respect people who go to strip clubs and I respect those who don't. I simply can't fathom an adult who cannot see why strip clubs are deleterious to women in general and to the specific women working in the clubs.
   98. SoSH U at work Posted: May 30, 2007 at 06:51 PM (#2384654)
I don't find strip clubs appealing. Then again, I don't understand the appeal of replica jerseys, video/online games or Las Vegas, which seems to leave me at odds with 98.5 percent of the rest of the adult male population these days.

You mean the number of (allegeed) psycho murderers rose to the level of "some"? Nice place.
