NY Times: Baseball Shakes Up Its Investigative Unit

M.L.B. proceeded to examine how its representatives handled the case and decided it should make changes, baseball officials said. That led to eliminating the jobs of Daniel T. Mullin, the investigative unit chief; his top deputy, George Hanna; and Ed Dominguez, a top agent.

Mullin, reached by phone, declined to discuss his departure, aside from saying: “Everything is amicable and good. I have no complaints.” Hanna and Dominguez did not immediately return emails seeking comment.

The commissioner’s office plans to hire a former prosecutor who will oversee the investigations department. Some investigators in the unit have been retained, but M.L.B. plans to hire contractors to assist in future investigations.

from TFA:
Mullin, on M.L.B.’s behalf, paid $125,000 cash for documents in the case, meeting a witness at a diner in Florida for the exchange.

I'd hope so.

I assume the deal went down at a junkyard, just like in Breaking Bad.

All the federales say
They could have had him any day
They only let him slip away
Out of kindness I suppose
