HOW WILL THE ANGELS LOSE TODAY?!

How many goddamned days do the Mets need off, FFS?

Missing the Yankee home run parade against the Orioles is very bad OmniChatter form. Gio Urshela has 7 HRs in his last 7 games, including 1 today, and is up to a .328 batting Average, which would be good for 2nd in the League, behind LeMahieu (.334), if he had enough PA to qualify. If he stays healthy, he should qualify by season’s end, but not with much room to spare.

fascinating, clapper. What odds would you get pre-season that the AL batting champ would be Gio Urshela? Career .270 hitter in AAA.
   5. The Yankee Clapper Posted: August 12, 2019 at 05:17 PM (#5870673)
Urshela qualifying for Batting Title, much less winning, would have been very long odds in pre-season, although LeMahieu winning in both leagues would be a good story, too.

Thattaboy, Green !

Juan Soto lightly sprained his ankle rounding 3B last night on a very late stop sign by Bob Henley. Soto is listed as day-to-day, which we fully expect to become 10-day I.L. and worse after several false starts to play on it.

Brian Dozier has "flu-like symptoms" so he is unavailable.

So the 23-man MLB roster will just have to do today. And probably tomorrow, too. So far the Nats have outpaced the Reds 3-2 in the 3rd with Erick Fedde on the mound.
   9. the Hugh Jorgan returns Posted: August 12, 2019 at 08:10 PM (#5870731)
I came here to remind everyone that Red Sox pitching this year still stinks. Sox down 5-1 in the 3rd. Indians have 5 hits, 3 BB and 2 homers already.
   10. rconn23 Posted: August 12, 2019 at 08:28 PM (#5870742)
Gio Urshela is hitting .331 with an over .960 OPS in almost 100 games played. As was predicted.

What does Gleyber have against the Orioles?
   13. rconn23 Posted: August 12, 2019 at 09:08 PM (#5870769)
Paul O'Neill literally went to check on Gary Thorne after Gleyber's last home run.

Reds catcher just made a perfect throw to get a guy at second on a steal attempt. Perfect

When he was 7 years old, his father was pecked to death by a rabid oriole. True story.

Who or what is a Brady Lail, and why is he still in this game?

Torres beats the O's like they killed his father, his wife, his dog, and burned his damn house down.

"When he was 7 years old, his father was pecked to death by a rabid oriole."

That's just silly. We all know rabid orioles don't attack fathers until their kids are at least 10. It was in Corinthians, or on reddit.
   18. Howie Menckel Posted: August 12, 2019 at 09:25 PM (#5870778)
Orioles P Ty Blach allowed 6 ER in 4 IP - and LOWERED his ERA.

I think the MLB stats guys are using their own names as Yankees relievers - "Joe Mantiply" and "Brady Lail."

Dozens of people are pecked to death by rabid orioles each year. It's just not really widely reported.

Toronto, up 17-2, allegedly has a "Buddy Boshers" warming up in the bullpen. I wonder who the Rangers' position player pitcher is.

Those are like the fake names video games come up with for players.

Davey Dingers.

Jeff Mathis, turns out. He's got the bat for it at least.

Obligatory video post

The Indians are red hot. Santana is having a great year, but Jose Ramirez remembering he is one of the top 10 players in baseball has a lot to do with it.
   26. the Hugh Jorgan returns Posted: August 12, 2019 at 10:48 PM (#5870802)
This Red Sox team is really hard to support right now. You may have heard me mention this, but the pitching STINKS!

Holland returns to Washington, bringing wooden shoes this time.

got this tonight for Wednesday's Orioles game at Yankee Stadium

"For select games during the 2019 season, fans can purchase tickets in select areas of the Terrace Level, Grandstand Level or Bleachers for $5, when using their Mastercard and the offer code MC19. Tickets for Mastercard $5 Games may be purchased in advance or on the day of the game."

Good deal especially when you consider there's about a 50% chance you'll catch a Gleyber Torres HR ball.
