HOW WILL THE METS LOSE TODAY?!

The Angels aren't playing, so someone's gotta take it.

They are facing Kershaw....

Anthony Rendon homered into that colorful celebratory device in the center field stands at Marlins Stadium. Unfortunately, it didn't go off. Design flaw, apparently.

HOW WILL THE REDS LOSE THEIR 10TH STRAIGHT TODAY?!
Not really a mystery. Their ERA is last in the NL.

Russia warning the US that any balls that Aaron Judge hits to Syria, will be seen as a direct threat to Russia ! (them being mostly small and not really smart).

Still waiting on comments to this by Trump, Bochy, Matheny and Baker.

Jesus, Dee with bunt and safe, steal and CF throw... and that in 2017 !
Respectable.

Stanton fail.

I hope Putin doesn't find out about Stanton's moonlighting job as Syrian jet downer.

Does Worley know, that if he ever gets come-backed by a batter and dies ... he will forever be known as *Orange Glasses* !?

That's now 16 consecutive games for the Orioles with 5+ runs allowed. 5 of those were double digit figures.

Jackie!!

He's been the best hitter on the Sox over the last month or so.

That is an incredible stat. That really seems like a lot games in a row without ever just having one outing where the staff is, you know...good.

Can someone run a play index on this type of thing? That just seems like a lot of games for 5+ runs allowed.

Man, the Red Sox really need to play Rutledge less. With him and Sandoval in there, it's just a black hole.

The record is 20 games, by the 1924 Philadelphia Phillies.

From September 3rd to September 24th.

The Orioles have now claimed second place all to themselves.

Last year, Baltimore won 4 games in a row despite giving up at least 5 runs in each game.
   15. the Hugh Jorgan returns Posted: June 19, 2017 at 10:33 PM (#5478963)
The Mets have already lost and the first inning isn't over yet. Gave up 4 so far to the Dodgers, Kershaw on the bump.

Now 7-0. Bellinger has another multi-homer game and it's just the third inning.

Edit: to clarify, Bellinger's second HR was in the second inning, not the third
   17. Franco American Posted: June 19, 2017 at 11:12 PM (#5478972)
Bellinger's swing has a unique look, beyond the results. Which are pretty damned unique.
   18. Bote Man Posted: June 19, 2017 at 11:14 PM (#5478975)
Nationals took a 6-0 lead into the 3rd inning in Miami. Then Tanner Roark lost it (earlier than is typical) as Dusty left him in until he gave up the game-tying grand slam to Justin Bour. Then, and only then, did Dusty go to his bullpen. Some sloppy defense by the Nats from the sounds of things.

I guess you could argue that this bullpen should only be used as a last resort, and sometimes starters have one bad inning only to recover if left in.
   19. Bote Man Posted: June 19, 2017 at 11:41 PM (#5478980)
Gavin Cecchini just hit his first MLB home run.

Off Clayton Kershaw.
   20. Snowboy Posted: June 19, 2017 at 11:47 PM (#5478983)
Jays getting revenge on Matt ####### Bush (remember he was the guy who hit Bautista, which sparked the sequence which led to the Odor punch)
Bush is now the closer, gives up a hustle double to Texas boy Ryan Goins.
Odor rolls very hard into the bag in attempt to tag/block Goins from reaching the bag. Goins has to shake off the hard contact.
Donaldson singles home Goins.
Donaldson steals his first base of the year.
Bautista walks.
Morales singles in Donaldson, Bautista to third.

Blown save, plus Bush now in line for the loss, 7-6 Jays (or the win, I guess), Smoak is up.
Texas leads the AL in blown saves, though lots of that is Sam Dyson.
   21. Joyful Calculus Instructor Posted: June 19, 2017 at 11:58 PM (#5478985)
That's 3 dingers off of Kershaw today. Pitching to the score. Yuck.
   22. Snowboy Posted: June 20, 2017 at 12:01 AM (#5478987)
Osuna closes out the Rangers. Odor makes the last out.
LO 3 unassisted
GO 6-3
Pop 5 unassisted
   23. Random Transaction Generator Posted: June 20, 2017 at 12:18 AM (#5478989)
It is quite possible that at the conclusion of tomorrow night's games that the Twins, Rays, Angels, Royals, Orioles, and Blue Jays/Rangers could all be tied for the 2nd wild card spot.

If the first two teams lose, and the rest win (Jays play the Rangers, so only one of them can win), then they will all be at .500
   24. Joyful Calculus Instructor Posted: June 20, 2017 at 12:27 AM (#5478991)
Sending Kershaw out for the 7th when he was at 100 pitches and already given up 3 homers was indefensible, imo.
   25. Franco American Posted: June 20, 2017 at 01:43 AM (#5478999)
100 is a magic number.
   26. Don August(us) Cesar Geronimo Berroa Posted: June 20, 2017 at 08:00 AM (#5479014)
Kershaw has already set a personal record for hr allowed in a season. Summer hasn't even started yet.
   27. Franco American Posted: June 20, 2017 at 09:15 AM (#5479043)
I wonder how much is him and how much is changed approach. Two were hit on fastballs, two on curves.

Eight homers total in Dodgers Stadium. How often does that happen, esp at night?
