WHICH ONE OF THE ANGELS GETS HURT TODAY?!

All Ohtani needs now is the hitter specific hamate bone injury to prove he's injury prone on both sides of the ball.

Baseball 2018: I'm watching the Cubs/Nats. Pitching change in the top of the 6th. I flip over to MLB Network to see if there's another game on, which there is. Indians. I'm just in time to see...Francona coming out to make a pitching change.

Baseball 2018, Part II: Nats LOOGY gets his out on about 3 pitches, end of inning. I flip back over to the Indians game just in time to see...one pitch before Francona comes out to make another pitching change.

Anyone know anything more on this? Tigers TV Announcers Have Fight In Chicago:
The contentious personal relationship between Fox Sports Detroit’s top two Detroit Tigers broadcasters, Mario Impemba and Rod Allen, has boiled over. The pair was involved in a physical altercation immediately following Tuesday night’s game against the White Sox, according to multiple persons with direct knowledge of the situation. The sources requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak on the incident, which was described as "severe" by one person who was present.

WTF? I can't imagine Red Barber & Mel Allen duking it out. AFAIK, no one even punched Hawk Harrelson. Weird stuff.

From the googles

Sources told Local 4 that Allen attacked Impemba following Tuesday night's broadcast on Fox Sports Detroit.

On Wednesday, Matt Shepherd and Kirk Gibson called the Tigers game.

Sources told Local 4 that Impemba left the broadcast booth at some point and Allen followed, assaulting Impemba from behind and choking him.

The altercation was because of a disagreement over a chair in the booth, sources told Local 4.

Hendricks pitched really good tonight, his defense blinked and he couldn't bail them out. The offense has also left some runs they could have had as they made strasburg work really hard.

Nats pen has to blow this though, right? Cubs can use the tired excuse of they want.

Sounds like a job for the maker of those super comfy office chairs that they make Pat Hughes plug on the Cubs broadcasts.

Guessing Barry Bonds isn’t on the list to replace them.

Willy gets pinch ran for with 1 out. Too bad almora got thrown out at second but at least bryant scored.
   12. Moses Taylor, aka Hambone Fakenameington Posted: September 06, 2018 at 09:51 PM (#5740276)
Dammit almora, you're not javy.

A chair? Not a love triangle? Where are their priorities?

Over/under on number of pickoff throws we have to sit through with Gore on first?

The Impemba/Allen feud isn't new, but it's still kind of hard for me to fathom it, since they came across as pretty good pals while they were the primary announcers for the Tigers.

That gentleman runs fastly.

Dammit almora, you're not javy.

I'm following on gameday now and was really confused when it said Almora was out at second given that he was already at second.

I guess "TOOTBLAN at second" isn't yet an official scoring term.
   19. Moses Taylor, aka Hambone Fakenameington Posted: September 06, 2018 at 09:56 PM (#5740284)
Grounder deep to SS hole 3b side and he wandered off 2nd. Contreras probably would have been safe at first even with a throw so almora was trying to anticipate a throw.

Happ gotta work on that contact.

Just goes to show you how far Russell has fallen that he's being lifted here.

Time for Murphy to burn his old team.

Low strike. It's not Willy so it's clearly a conspiracy.
   24. What did Billy Ripken have against ElRoy Face? Posted: September 06, 2018 at 10:06 PM (#5740293)
In a tie, does Joe draw his relievers from the Guys Who Pitch When We're Ahead list or the Guys Who Pitch When We're Behind list? Both? I think Edwards is still on the first list, right?
   25. Meatwad Posted: September 06, 2018 at 10:06 PM (#5740294)
Yeah its getting annoying but then again some of these pitchers have been so damn wild im sure that doesnt help on the close ones.

Oh good, lead-off walks.
   27. Moses Taylor, aka Hambone Fakenameington Posted: September 06, 2018 at 10:07 PM (#5740296)
Cishek came in when they were behind and he's on the good list. Joe's off script.

Yeah but not today and not on Edwards 2nd pitch.

Who else here would support mandatory ejection from the park for any fan who responds to "Everybody Clap Your Hands," "Day-O" or the YMCA?

Well, we're about to find out who comes in when they're behind. F***.

This pen is trash.
   32. Moses Taylor, aka Hambone Fakenameington Posted: September 06, 2018 at 10:11 PM (#5740301)
Edwards being bad is depressing
   33. Meatwad Posted: September 06, 2018 at 10:11 PM (#5740302)
Im not sure what list he has wilson on, but im sure they will soon be losing.

Guys it's still too early* for me to put on my optimism police pants but you're tempting me.

*Regular season is preseason optimisming.

You guys should look up how Wilson has pitched the last few months. You'll be surprised by that too. The early season walks are way down.

Wtf javy.

My god that was pathetic. 5 pitches, none anywhere near the strike zone, and he whiffed. 2 over his head, 3 in the dirt.
   44. Moses Taylor, aka Hambone Fakenameington Posted: September 06, 2018 at 10:38 PM (#5740322)
Strop looks really ripped this year.

The bote keeps the cubs afloat.

Bote Man!!

Bote loves him a low pitch...although honestly that probably should have been caught.

   52. Moses Taylor, aka Hambone Fakenameington Posted: September 06, 2018 at 10:47 PM (#5740333)
It was hit really hard and was carrying. Not an easy catch by any means imo
   53. What did Billy Ripken have against ElRoy Face? Posted: September 06, 2018 at 10:48 PM (#5740334)
Sr. Dientes de Caballo, if you're ever going to do anything meaningful offensively for the Cubs, now would be the time...
   54. Moses Taylor, aka Hambone Fakenameington Posted: September 06, 2018 at 10:48 PM (#5740335)
Set up DP. And face Caratini and Davis, both clearly subhapp level hitters.
   55. Meatwad Posted: September 06, 2018 at 10:49 PM (#5740336)
Taylor davis cubs hero. Calling it now
   56. What did Billy Ripken have against ElRoy Face? Posted: September 06, 2018 at 10:49 PM (#5740337)

And he knocks in a run!
   58. Moses Taylor, aka Hambone Fakenameington Posted: September 06, 2018 at 10:50 PM (#5740340)
Ha. Nice effort Bryce on getting that throw in quickly.
   59. What did Billy Ripken have against ElRoy Face? Posted: September 06, 2018 at 10:51 PM (#5740341)
Odds on Javy whiffing on something 2 feet out of the zone here?
   60. What did Billy Ripken have against ElRoy Face? Posted: September 06, 2018 at 10:55 PM (#5740343)
It was hit really hard and was carrying.
Carrying, yes, but did you see Bote's reaction? He thought he popped it up and didn't even start running.
   61. Moses Taylor, aka Hambone Fakenameington Posted: September 06, 2018 at 10:58 PM (#5740344)
He misread it, didn't look like the CF did though.
   62. What did Billy Ripken have against ElRoy Face? Posted: September 06, 2018 at 11:00 PM (#5740346)
You gotta give the ump credit there, being able to correctly distinguish between a pitch that juuuuuust misses the corner, and then the next pitch that just gets the corner.
   63. Moses Taylor, aka Hambone Fakenameington Posted: September 06, 2018 at 11:00 PM (#5740347)
That was a clear strike, ball 2 usually is one. Sit down.
   64. Jose is an Absurd Force of Nature Posted: September 06, 2018 at 11:02 PM (#5740348)
62 - Yeah, the ump got both calls right I thought.

Although it's not quite midnight in Manhattan, this is still no time to get cute.

(Reference, anyone?)

OK, don't get complacent - careful with Reynolds.
   67. Moses Taylor, aka Hambone Fakenameington Posted: September 06, 2018 at 11:06 PM (#5740351)
Good enough.
   68. Meatwad Posted: September 06, 2018 at 11:07 PM (#5740352)
Add a half game onto the lead.
   69. What did Billy Ripken have against ElRoy Face? Posted: September 06, 2018 at 11:08 PM (#5740353)
Yep. I'll take it.

Walk tall, or if you're Javy Baez, baby, don't walk at all.

OK, the Diamondbacks deserve to lose this game. PUH-thetic!
