OT - 2018 NBA Summer Potpourri (finals, draft, free agency, Colangelo dragging)

I estimate only 10-12 Primates care about the NBA, none of whom can be bothered to curate their own thread to avoid detracting from what this site is really about:  complaints about mayonnaise.

@JakeLFischer
Kevin Knox says one team interview at the Combine pressed him if he had a child. Knox, was surprised, obviously replying “no.” The team asked again, saying their intel had learned he had a child. Knox asked for the kid’s name and the team finally relented, admitting it was hoax.

This is genuinely something the league should be investigating. And they should be laying out heavy, heavy fines and *strongly encouraging* teams to fire the individuals involved.

I would just keep Bayless, bring Redick back on a 1-year deal, draft Mikal Bridges if he's available (maybe package the two first-rounders) and try to sign both Ilyasova and a real backup center. Try to get a max guy again summer 2019.

redick is unplayable in the postseason.
bridges' 50th percentile outcome is jeremy lamb.

i'm fine with bringing the same team back next year, but i see an opportunity for the sixers to build a rotation that's 9 or 10 deep, filled with athletic role players who have years of experience, and are still in/near their prime.

Not my pick, but some guys who would interest me for the Wolves at this spot:
Kevin Hervey
Bruce Brown
Rawle Alkins
Alonzo Trier
Hamidou Diallo

Also like Malik Newman and Chimezie Metu at this point, but not sure if they'd ever get minutes.

With the 48th pick the Timberwolves pick ... well first they double check that he is still available, Google search him for red flags, check him again on draft web sites ... and then eagerly take Jerome Robinson SG from Boston College.

The Wolves need shooting and Jerome looks to have first round shooting talent. (multiple cliché alert) I am thrilled he is available since he was the top player on my board and fits a position of need. He is also a top character guy whose intangibles are off the charts. ;)

Memphis says no to the trade above. Memphis loses their 1st round pick next year, and will probably try to make one more run at 50 wins before blowing things up. They do want to move Parsons (obviously), but who can they get that can help them win next year? They have to just hope Conley/Gasol are healthy and productive, so adding Gortat does nothing.
   1312. Willard Baseball Posted: June 20, 2018 at 04:04 PM (#5696420)
If Brooklyn is tanking, what could they get for D'Angelo Russell? Future 1st rounder? 1st and a 2nd? Two firsts? Hard to judge him on market. Somebody may see a good player in there, though I do not.

I don't think they should be creating max salaries and then end up giving that money to Russell. Is there a team out there that would take him? Would Cleveland have interest? Or the Clippers? Would either trade their 1sts for him?

I suspect Russell's current value is a low first at best.

Agree. Not very impressive, to date, and he's an RFA after next year. I think it makes more sense for Brooklyn to just keep him and see if he turns the corner this year.

Take this with a giant grain of salt but seeing how we are 27 hours away might as well get all the rumors out:

On Bulls RealGM just now a poster that LOVES Luka received a PM from a guy that has dropped some insider knowledge before. Based on said poster's reaction (the Luka lover) the assumption seems to be that the Bulls are targeting Luka and will move up if necessary/possible to get him.

   1318. jmurph Posted: June 20, 2018 at 04:42 PM (#5696461)
From the talk of Memphis being desperate to get out from under Parson's disastrous deal, maybe if Chicago took that on they could move to 4?

I'm still expecting Sacramento or Atlanta to take him.
   1319. Willard Baseball Posted: June 20, 2018 at 04:43 PM (#5696462)
I am not high on D'Angelo, but a team that needs backcourt scoring and is in the playoff hunt, should trade a mid 1st for him.

Wolves
Spurs

Would be two teams that I would think would be interested.

Yeah, and if he doesn't, then it's easy enough to either renounce him or let him walk on an offer sheet. They're not in a position like the Bulls with Lavine where they have reasons to feel compelled to pay him more than he's worthy.

Bulls are targeting Luka and will move up if necessary/possible to get him.

"necessary/possible" means two very different things. I'm with jmurph that I highly doubt he gets to 4, let alone 7. I suppose it's possible for Chicago to get to 3, but I don't know if they are going to like the price.

I don't know who they will sign that gives them a better chance at 50 wins than getting Doncic/MPJ/Bagley and hoping they are a rookie of the year guy.

The rumor appears to be that the framework of a deal is in place. I guess this is something "NBAdraftgod" on twitter dropped about a week ago.

I poorly worded that, what I mean by "possible" is just if he's there at 4, which might not be the case. If he somehow drops past 4 maybe he'll get to 7. I got no clue, this draft, as we talked last night some, is impossible to call.

I could be convinced to reluctantly surrender a gently used Wiggins (obviously with many other parts and possibly a third team making the money balance).

Makes sense. I'm definitely excited to see how it breaks down. Of course, after all of these permutations, it will probably be very low-drama.

If, *IF*, there really were something between the Bulls and Grizz, I'm not surprised that all of a sudden it's leaking that the Hawks are really looking into Doncic at 3.

If it were as easy as taking Parsons's deal to move up, you do that in a heartbeat, IMO.

wonder if they can ship out Asik or Felicio as part of any deal. 7+Portis (or 22) + Felicio for 4 and Parsons?

There is another rumor that the Kings love MPJ but not at #2 and are looking to move down. Tmr cannot come fast enough for NBA fans.
   1329. jmurph Posted: June 20, 2018 at 05:17 PM (#5696498)
Yeah you need to be getting more than just moving from 7 to 4 to take on that Parsons deal. Exchange of some other, less bad contract would be fair, I think.

(EDIT: Parsons going to Chicago, a less bad contract going the other way, I meant.)
   1330. JJ1986 Posted: June 20, 2018 at 05:36 PM (#5696508)
Do the Grizz get any capspace by moving Parsons for a smaller bad contract like Felicio? I think they'd have less than the MLE when you add in a draft pick.

Now there's rumors the knicks want to move to 4 for Bamba.

Seems like wishful thinking based on this breakdown of their cap situation.

It could happen though [edit: would 18.3 million be enough to absorb his deal?]:

As detailed in the table above, if both Kanter and O’Quinn opt out and if the Knicks renounce Beasley, Kanter, Jack, and O’Quinn, New York’s maximum amount of cap space would be $18,347,097. That’s a good chunk of change to have as it creates financial flexibility. Given that there aren’t too many benefits in keeping Beasley’s and Jack’s Non-Bird Rights worth keeping a combined $3-million-plus cap hold on the books, here are the cap figures based on how Kanter and O’Quinn options and renouncing Beasley and Jack:

But I believe they'd be right back up against the cap taking on Parsons and it would likely impact their ability to resign Porzingis and/or build anything around him.

Teams are exploring deals with the Hawks for the no. 3 pick with the hope of moving up to select Luka Doncic or Mo Bamba, per league sources. Hearing interested teams are the Bulls, Knicks, Magic, Clippers and Mavs. The Celtics are a dark horse. @ringer

I'm not overly excited about anyone left, was hopeful a Duke guard or McCoy would drop here.

With the 48th pick the San Antonio Spurs select Hamidou Diallo.

Can't shoot, but he's very much a lump of clay, hoping he can use his athleticism to turn into a defensive asset.
   1339. tshipman Posted: June 20, 2018 at 08:57 PM (#5696606)
nah. tshipman's analysis is rather primitive and short-sighted - has a lot in common with early sabermetric analysis.
two factors influence player value in any sport. One is the theoretical 'optimal' way to play - i.e., given a set of conditions in effect at a specific time, there's probably a 'best' way to play the game assuming everyone else was also playing that 'best' way. In other words, if the system reached equilibrium, certain players would be more valuable than others based on the rules of the game at that time. This first factor gets muddled because the system never actually reaches equilibrium - the initial conditions constantly change because of changes in the rules (3 point line, foul rules, how refs call games, restricted area, etc) and styles of play have substantial inertia - we probably STILL haven't reached equilibrium regarding the optimal number of 3 pointers to shoot, and that rule changed 30 years ago.

the second factor is random walk, which arises out of game theory. even if you do reach equilibrium for the optimum way to play, you'd still see styles change because of rock paper scissors - natural noise will push teams off of the 'ideal' and then other teams evolve to respond to that and generally style / strategy will meander around the 'ideal'. There's no real underlying 'truth' here and often following the random walk is a mistake because unless the real value is in zigging when other's zag - when everyone is picking centers you pick wings and since wings are undervalued and no one else has them you have a strategic edge, but that quickly erodes when the market follows you and you need to move onto the next new strategy that expoits overabundance of wings, etc.

tshipman thinks all his statistical analysis is uncovering factor 1 - the 'true' best way to play. That is an overaggressive view. There's a lot of factor 2 mixed in as well. What's not clear from any statistical analysis I've seen is (1) how much of the move to wings is random walk and how much is optimization and (2) even if the equilibrium state involves more wings and less bigs than say, 10 years ago, at what point are teams so frantically trying to acquire wings that bigs become undervalued relative to their value even in an 'optimal' scenario and then you can win with a big-focused strategy even though you're moving away from the theoretical optimum. These are difficult problems to solve and I doubt many teams have good answers - maybe the Celtics and Rockets have an idea.

Also, Amare would have been one of the best players on the floor in this finals. He was super athletic before the injuries and he would have different skills trained up in today's game. Ayton will develop differently than a player with the same natural talents 10 years ago so the interesting question is how much height helps in the modern game if the player is trained to play the modern game.

What a load of faux-intellectual garbage.

Indiana selects Arnoldas Kulboka from Lithuania by way of Capo D'Orlando.

God knows the odds are long that he'll ever be able to defend a wing without getting blown past or a big without getting shoved into the basket support, but in the late second round I figure I can do worse than to roll the dice on a 6'10" Eurostash who can shoot and even dribble a bit.

Bonga was the guy I really wanted but I'm not surprised he didn't last nearly till pick 50.

With the 50th pick, the New Orleans Pelicans select Tony Carr, PG, Penn State.
Yeah, I know he tested poorly (worst vertical amongst PGs, worst two footed (?) jump, middle of the pack on the sprint), but his measurables were excellent-good standing reach/wingspan, taller than most other PG types.
Carr, however was a very productive college player. Despite poor nominal percentages, he was one of the best catch-and-shoot shooters in college last year (1.365 ppp was in the 94th percentile) and was also excellent at finding teammates (arate of 29.3 ranked 87th in NCAA, 2nd in the B1G in assists).
Combination of good measurables and what could have been a bad testing day (he's never been considered a plus athlete, but my eyetest suggest he's not a terrible one) means he could at least be a backup. Maybe he could help defending wings, and if the shooting isn't a mirage, maybe you've got something.

this writeup of carr is the most pessimistic scouting report i've seen about any single player anywhere this year, and based on my own impressions from watching carr, completely deserved:
59. Tony Carr
When scouting Carr, I found it perplexing that he was able to stack up counting stats as he did. He’s a non-athlete, one of the worst finishers in the NCAA, not a particularly good ball-handler, and his drawn out push shooting motion doesn’t seem like it should work. Still, he found a way to score points out of the mid-range and get to the free throw line enough to maintain decent efficiency. He’s still an atrocious defender, with terrible on-ball technique and slow off-ball reactions. Carr is definitely a plus passer on offense as he does read things well for a guy who stands 6-foot-4.5, but I’m not confident in any of his other skills. He’s at least a big ball-handler with production, though I’m not convinced that his jumper–or anything else he does–will translate efficiently.

this is what i saw when i watched carr:
tony carr:
good size
likes to post up
range out past 25'
old man skillset
below average burst
choppy ballhandler
uses his dribble to create post up opportunities, rather than get to the rim
below average vision
below average playmaking.
won't beat you off the dribble, but he's got a very effective step back jumper

he has an NBA body and his step back jumper is a legit weapon, but the rest of his offensive skillset should have been left behind in high school.

I'd call it a "Woj Zippo".

@JakeLFischer
Kevin Knox says one team interview at the Combine pressed him if he had a child. Knox, was surprised, obviously replying “no.” The team asked again, saying their intel had learned he had a child. Knox asked for the kid’s name and the team finally relented, admitting it was hoax.

If I'm Kevin Knox, I end the interview right then and there, after telling them that they should remove me from their draft board. I've ended both college recruitment and actual job interviews due to various reasons that showed the interviewer to be completely lacking moral character. Not the kind of place I'd want to work. Hope it wasn't the 76ers.

Yeah, I think Carr will go on to a respectable career in Europe or China but (having researched him along with a handful of other guys for my #50 pick) I don't really see any path to an NBA career for him, even on a bench, unless he suddenly turns up shooting 40% from three. He seems like the very definition of a college star to me.

I like the deal for Charlotte, actually. Getting under the tax is important, and they have no use for Howard. No idea why they got him in the first place.

Well, I'd like to think that I would, right? I would today, for sure.

I certainly have been 19 and lacked the kind of confidence when dealing with grown men that it would take to stand up for myself. I hope the NBA investigates and fines/fires the idiot who asked that.

I like the Howard trade for Brooklyn, assuming their plan for 2018-19 is... well, maybe not precisely tank, but to make no particular effort to be good. Howard is a flashy name who makes your team worse. Just let Dwight do his thing, let D'Angelo do his best Westbrook impersonation, and if D'Angelo is injured or sucks your team ends up 25-57. If D'Angelo breaks out then you end up 37-45, drafting lower but with a genuine piece to build around.

Woj: "The Lakers have acquired the 39th pick in Thursday’s Draft from the 76ers, league source tells ESPN. Lakers will send Philly its 2019 second round pick via Bulls and cash."

there are two ways to look at this:
1: the sixers probably could have gotten more if they had waited until tomorrow
2: this is small potatoes, and the fact that they took care of it early may (hopefully) indicate that they're working on bigger moves.

There's like a 5% chance that Doncic stays in Europe if the Kings pick him, and that would be disastrous.

Eh, not even the Kings would pick him without knowing full well he'd sign. That said, the Kings hold all the cards in this draft. Good spot to be in, then again, it's the Kings. I think they could also easily sell [to the fanbase] moving back, picking up another asset, and grabbing say Carter or Young at 7,8.

Okay, Utah Jazz select Rawle Alkins. I like his size and wingspan for switchability, he's athletic, and I hope that he can shoot from deep in the NBA. He also was hampered by injury in college, so if he can get and stay healthy he may be better than he showed at Arizona.

I've got a few people in mind for #59, including one guy who is a possibility purely based on name & background.

Trying to decide between a speculative point (which the Cavs need) or a big (much easier to wish on)

I'm not going to be around a ton tomorrow, so in order not to slow things down:

The Mavs take either Xavier Cooks or Kevin Hervey at 54, assuming that Frida's Boss cannot take both somehow.

I guess if both are available, we'll take Cooks. He's such a weird player. 6-8 guard, who averages a ridiculous amount of steals, assists, blocks and rebounds.

He's probably not good, but I'd rather have a weirdo with good numbers than someone I can't even look at numbers for.

With pick 53, the Thunder select Bruce Brown, G, the U. Strong defender, good off-ball skills and would have gone a lot higher had he come out last year.

Mavericks/tshipman are on the clock.

Note: If anyone is giving away a pick for nominal considerations (cash, future nothing picks, a kind word) I have a player I wouldn't mind drafting. Not exactly a hugeneed, so no is fine. Mostly just if you are stuck and don't really want anyone. :)

oh, this is a fun one:
and i've mentioned this before, but that's the main reason why i prefer okafor at #3 if russell is taken at #2. the value of guys like smart (who's a guard) and porzingis (who's a euro) can take a nose dive if they have a bad rookie year, but a highly regarded big like okafor has a lot more durability built into his trade value.
and this:
spite is a powerful motivator, but i doubt it's enough to get someone to willingly move to cleveland.

i think my favorite part of the BBTF mock draft is picking handfuls of random europeans who will never play in the NBA:

24. Philadelphia - STIGGLES - Gary Payton II

3. Philadelphia (STIGGLES) - Josh Jackson, F Kansas
16. Philadelphia via Chicago (STIGGLES) - Justin Jackson, SF North Carolina
39. Philadelphia (STIGGLES) - Monte Morris, PG, Iowa State
43. Philadelphia via Houston (STIGGLES) - Alpha Kaba, C, France
45. Philadelphia via Houston (STIGGLES) - Alberto Abalde, F, Spain
46. Philadelphia (STIGGLES) - Aleksander Vezenkov, F, Bulgaria
58. Philadelphia via New York (STIGGLES) - Mathias Lessort, F, France

At this time of day last draft day, Bulls and TWolves weren’t close on a Jimmy Butler deal. Something to keep in mind as day progresses. Stuff typically gets serious later.

K.C. Johnson @KCJHoop 21m21 minutes ago

That said, I’d be as surprised as anyone if Bulls take on Chandler Parsons’ contract.

Well, I'd like to think that I would, right? I would today, for sure.

I certainly have been 19 and lacked the kind of confidence when dealing with grown men that it would take to stand up for myself. I hope the NBA investigates and fines/fires the idiot who asked that.

I did this once during an interview a year out of college. The situation isn't exactly the same, but I really needed a job and the guy tried baiting me from the start and I just knew even if I got that job I'd hate it. So I argued with him, felt better briefly, but then regretted it after I still didn't get a job for a few more months. Today, I'm glad I did it.

Many years ago a guy I knew had an on-campus interview that started like this;

Interviewer: Um, you're (insert name)?

Guy: Yes.

Interviewer: Oh. We thought you were black.

He was an easygoing sort and finished the interview anyway. Didn't get an offer, alas.

Hornets take Kevin Hervey. I view him as a small-ball four. If his shot develops as hoped, he can take some of the Marvin Williams minutes. I do not want to see a regular rotation of Dwight, Zeller, and Kaminsky, so having a 6'8 guy with 7'3 wingspan and a passable outside shot is a good outlet. I saw Anthony Tolliver thrown out as a comp, and that's a nice bench piece to have.

The Most Promising Players In The NBA Draft According To My Computer

One last important warning: This list does not include projections for European players (so no Luka Doncic) or for other players who did not play NCAA basketball for some reason. Also, since Michael Porter Jr. played in only three NCAA games as a result of injury, we don’t project him on the basis of his NCAA statistics.

At any rate, here goes: The top prospects as projected by CARMELO, non-Doncic, non-Porter edition. Players are ranked by their projected wins above replacement over their first seven NBA seasons:

I will mention the two most important names on the list ... #18: Jerome Robinson & #27 Khyri Thomas. :)

with the 56th pick, the sixers are gonna take issuf sanon, G, Ukraine. he's basically a ukrainian elfrid payton.
66. Issuf Sanon
As one of the youngest players in this year’s draft, Sanon brings immediate intrigue thanks to his athletic tools and motor at 6-foot-4. He has games where he looks like a stud, combining shot making ability, physical tools, and plus passing into one package, but a lot of the time he plays completely out of control and seems years away from contributing in the NBA. His body is definitely not ready, as he will need to add strength to his presently skinny frame. All that said, the team drafting him will almost surely stash him for at least a couple years, giving him time to develop with a strong European club that will hopefully be able to rein in some of his wild habits. Sanon is a generally tough evaluation because he looks super dynamic as an athlete at some times and extremely unathletic at others, so it’s hard to know which is more representative of his actual ability.

OKC (fridas boss) is up next.

I'm more excited about the draft this year than others. I think that's a combination of just being more into the NBA and this year's draft being more relevant for the Spurs than it's been in a long while.

With pick #57, the Thunder select Malik Newman, G, Kansas. Offensive juggernaut to pair with my defense-first last pick. Good rebounding to boot.

Nuggets/Dandy at 58 are on the clock.

I'm more excited about the draft this year than others. I think that's a combination of just being more into the NBA and this year's draft being more relevant for the Spurs than it's been in a long while.

Careful what you wish for. I mean, the Spurs aren't the Bulls, but draft day last year was when the Bulls blindsided me by trading Jimmy Butler for a terrible package (that does look a little better in retrospect but still sucked).

---

I want to try and type out my thoughts for what I hope happens, just to look back in the future to see how wrong/right I was.

In order from best case/my desired outcome to worst
1. Doncic falls to the Bulls pick (seems virtually unlikely now)
2. Bulls acquire another first round pick for taking on a contract (i.e. Wizards supposedly considering using their pick to dump someone)
3. Bulls can trade up to 4 for Doncic with a simple Felicio/7 for Parsons/4 swap
4. Bulls trade up for Doncic, but it costs more than that (meaning includes picks or Asik instead - because he's only got 1 year on deal)
5. Bulls trade up to 3 for Doncic, which would involve multiple picks
6. Jackson Jr falls to Bulls
7. Bamba falls to Bulls (this is the one that could make me look the worst)
8. Bulls have their pick of Carter, Porter, and Young
9. Bulls trade down (say 7 for 12/13)
10. Bulls don't move and pick either Bridges
11. Bulls trade up for anyone but Doncic
12. Bulls trade up and pass on Doncic
13. Bulls trade Jimmy Butler again

After the first 2 which are no brainer wins, I really don't have that strong of a feeling on 3-9 (I like Doncic, but that Parsons deal is BAD0. 11-13 would piss me off.

The Philadelphia 76ers had internal discussions about packaging the No. 10 and 26 picks, along with former No. 1 overall pick Markelle Fultz, to move into the top five, league sources told The Athletic. The target was Porter during these discussions. However, that thinking dampened with Porter’s back remaining a major question mark. If JJ Redick leaves in free agency, Fultz is the favorite to start at shooting guard.

BTW, against all odds, the only guy I wanted when the 50s started is still there. I'd be happy to trade back Gudaitis' rights for current pick, Dandy, if you don't want it (or retrade to stevegamer, or trade to stiggles, Gudaitis fits with your roster assembly of eurostashes, if that player remains).
1390. Dandy Little Glove Man Posted: June 21, 2018 at 01:43 PM (#5697034)
With the 58th pick, the Denver Nuggets select Raymond Spalding, F/C, Louisville.

This is the guy I was targeting a day or two ago when I sought to move up into the late 40s. Fortunately he was still on the board at #58.

Spalding has a massive, nearly 7’5” wingspan giving him conventional center length and standing reach in a slimmer, more forward-like body. He’s an exceptionally mobile, fluid athlete who gets up off the ground quickly though his max vertical is merely average. That combination of physical gifts led to impressive numbers in the athletic indicator stats—including over 3 steals per 100 possessions both this year and as a freshman, which is outstanding for a big man—while also allowing him to switch onto smaller players without difficulty.

Yet the most intriguing thing about Spalding is his untapped offensive potential. This year his usage surged from 16% up to 23%, without much effect on his shooting percentages. He’s also raised his free throw percentage from terrible (50%) to respectable (64%). Digging further into the stats, his shot distribution suggests greater improvement, as most of his additional usage has come away from the basket. According to hoop-math, he quadrupled his number of jumpers made this year, from 15 to 60.

While Spalding shot very few 3s in his college career, there’s reason to believe he might become a 3-point threat in the NBA. Here’s a video of Spalding’s pro day workout highlighting his outside shooting ability both from a standstill and on the move.

He isn’t strong or bulky enough to mount much resistance against the Embiid and Cousins types, but fortunately he’s quick enough to slide down to the PF slot based on matchups. If his jumper does ultimately translate, he should be a competent rotation big man and perhaps more.

The Cavs are on the clock.

Spurs are willing listeners on Kawhi Leonard trade proposals, but haven't been proactive in chasing down offers, league sources tell ESPN. For now, make an offer and they'll add it to their board. Spurs and Lakers have had no dialogue on Leonard.

It's not all good excitement, but I'm interested to see what happens. I'm pretty open to dealing Kawhi too, really. I mean, I'd love it if he's 100%, disowns his uncle, and announces he is coming back at less than the supermax. But if they have to deal him, fine - he was part of the core that won a championship, went to another, and was an all-NBA performer for a couple of years. He doesn't owe anything to the Spurs in my book. I just don't want them to deal him for pennies on the dollar to the Lakers. I don't even really care if he goes to the Lakers, I just want the Spurs to get the best offer available.

Rooting for a bunch of new blood and young guys could be fun if they don't completely bottom out, which I don't think they will. Which is also why I'd like to get either something like the Kings pick (from the Celtics )or another really high draft pick this year because it's hard to see the Spurs bottoming out even if they go for the rebuild. I feel like the players/coaching/management are too good for that.

Yeah, reading the chatter of Boston and Milwaukee wanting to move up and/or get more picks is like "No ####." Neither seems to want to trade anything approaching fair assets, though. I do think Boston is smart to be lookin to move Rozier. He's a solid backup PG but I'm not sure his value will ever be higher than right now given his playoff performance.

Great post, I joked on RealGM that Bulls fans need a flow chart for this draft based on what the teams do ahead of them and the resulting possibilities.

In theory I'd be for trading up for: JJJ, Bamba, Bagley, Luka. For Luka I'd probably even "overpay", that is, throw in say #22 and Portis. If they are trading up for Young, MPJ then FML. If they draft Carter when MPJ is there FML. If they draft Bridges when MPJ and Carter or on the board FML.

So basically just please don't draft Carter or Bridges. But, what the hell do I know, I hated the Lauri pick and he looks like a future star, or at least a very good 3rd/4th banana on a contender.

Agree. And while I'm on team Run it Back, not moving him now probably means losing him for nothing next year, which is not ideal. I just think a more realistic deal is something like Rozier for a future protected 1st, not anything spectacular.
