It's now over 800 yards.
The WVU basketball team last year failed to score more than 70 points in 14 of their 33 games(with 1 tie). If they get 77, it'll be 19 games (and 3 ties).
[unless ESPN gamecast had some major error or something?]
One of them has 5 TDs.
I was working and watching the game and forgot I was on about 15-20 minute delay.
I have no idea how to process what I watched. I guess somewhere Hal Mumme is happy.
No, no it hasn't.
edit: check that 3rd and short from the 4.
Edit: Though I'm pretty sure that Texas returned a kick for TD against Ole Miss. And nobody eas even near that guy on the return. So I guess Ole Miss just can't cover a ####### kickoff.
emphasis added.
Why isn't Ole Miss shitting themselves that they made Alabama angry? Or was McCarron no longer angry when he threw that terrible ####### pass that should have been picked off?
Which he has done before...last season actually. Might be the 2nd guy to go down with an ACL injury for Alabama.
No kidding. Too bad they are almost all on at the same time. I'm terrified of the Texas game and pissed I won't get to see Georgia-USCe. LSU-Florida should be really good too, even if I don't think they are the 4th and tenth best teams in the nation.
On top of that, there are a bunch of mid tier interesting conference games. I also feel like I have no idea what is going to happen in Pac-12 games week after week, except that I'm fairly certain Oregon will win. Those games are a blast.
OMG, that is terrible! I mean, the whole reason to move to the Big 12 is to play games like @ Texas this weekend. On the other hand, at least you won't be able to watch every time the defense blows third and long on the way to a humiliating and frustrating loss.
Just took 15 min to try and find some kind of Fox sports streaming app on the Google Play store, no dice. Looks like I'm stuck refreshing box scores of maybe finding a streaming radio feed. DVR and watch later isn't going to be an option, they'll be 100 people at the wedding doing the same thing with their phones.
I love my brother, but the longer the reception goes on the more I'm going to start reflecting, calculating, and measuring that against me watching a WVU road game, a top-10 matchup, in Austin. Never a good mental condition.
I expect we'll be seeing a lot of blown coverage for both teams. Still, to say I'm a nervous wreck would be putting it lightly. TX is a 7 point favorite, the feels right to me.
Shawne Alston didn't make the trip to Austin. He's not WVU's best playmaker or anything, but I think a big bruising back would be useful tonight.
Yeah, I saw that and it does not make me feel better about tonight. His absence has been a big reason why WVU's run game has been pretty non-existent that last couple of games. I was really hoping he would be ready to go. Let's hope Garrison wakes the heck up tonight.
I actually think there's a chance Texas could win pretty convincingly. I also think there's a chance it's going to be back and forth.
I agree with this. There's like no chance that WVU wins convincingly. The big thing to watch on WVU's defense is whether they pick their blitzes well. The blitz is pretty much their only defensive weapon right now, since they have no pass rush otherwise and their secondary is, well, terrible. If DeForrest has to make the right blitz calls at the right time for WVU to stop Texas more than once or twice all game. I'm not sure he can really do that.
Edit: Also, MSU down 10 to Indiana! That's...unexpected.
The Rutgers-UConn game is not a lot of fun to watch.
I prefer to think of it as the "Louisiana-Monroe Consolation Bowl."
I have a hard time seeing how WVU is going to win today. I think Texas is going to run the ball, control the clock and keep their own defense fresh while beating down WVU's.
I don't have a hard time seeing it, I just have no faith in the them pulling it off. WVU does have the 39th ranked run defense in the nation. Neither MD or Baylor could run the ball on them. Those aren't great running teams, but it's something to note. And if WVU gets out to an early lead, then Texas won't be able to simply run the ball, they'll have to put the game in Ash's hands.
WVU is also amazing at protecting the ball (what a change from the Bill Stewart era). A couple turnovers could have a huge impact. Of course, if WVU does turn it over (which they will now that I've posted this), they are in a lot of trouble.
Texas is a favorite for a reason, but WVU has somethings going for it beyond Geno and his receivers churning out yardage.
LSU/Florida should be very interesting. I haven't seen enough of either team, but LSU has generally looked unimpressive based on highlights and box scores and I think the A&M win is actually a much stronger victory than most people are giving it credit for. So I'll take Florida.
I haven't been able to shake that 41-3 whoopin they put on Washington. Florida got A&M early, in Manziel's first college game. I'm taking LSU, but I don't feel great about it.
My main exposure to them was the Auburn game and highlights of the first half Towson debacle. The Washington game was probably their best - but I think Washington is a mediocre team that punched above their weight once moreso than a good team that has a consistent ability to beat teams like Stanford.
MSU desperately needs this.
